Interesting, figured since he connected on a 100 MPH fastball it was equal velo back in the opposite direction

That was a crazy HR....out in front of the changeup...slows down his bat and extends his swing to catch the barrel and maayybe keep it fair...and he does...

I think it's becoming contagious. This level of intensity has always existed for teams like Japan, Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, DR, PR, maybe others I'm forgetting. But now it's starting to bleed into other teams like Canada and USA and hopefully European countries going forward.

Yep. I wanted Mexico to advance but wow, what a game and wow, what a tournament.

And the pure baseball of it all. Lots of running, lots of oppo hits, lots of flexing. It has been spectacular.

I remember when the WBC was first drummed up and roundly panned as a bad idea - there were plenty of people comparing it to a lemon the ol' car salesman Selig kept trying to sell off the lot...

Well, Bud was right - can't think of a better way to grow fan interest in the game internationally, and it's held at the perfect time (between Latin American winter ball leagues and during MLB Spring Training before the season starts)

Major League Baseball is a regional sport.  Baseball is a global sport.

I care about Brewers games...and USA games are interesting...I don't really care when the Dodgers are playing Yankees even if it's the "World" Series.

All I want: All the Cardinal players to fail horribly (Goldy and Arenado off to a good start), Shohei to go deep, and the U.S.A. to win regardless with Devin closing it out. LET'S DO THIS!

Edit: Oh, and a 15 pitch Ohtani-Trout match up, don't care how it ends.
