Well, that was a pleasant surprise this morning. I went to bed with the Brewers behind and rather disgusted with baseball, only to wake up and discover they came back in late innings.

Today will be a tough matchup: Gallen is a very good pitcher and I'm terrified Teheran is going to run out of magical pixie dust... but it's baseball.

So as to not get my hopes up, I'm fully expecting this to be the game where Tehran comes back to reality and Gallen shuts us out for 7/8 innings (as he usually does) with the aid of the afternoon shadows and our impotent bats.

Just a gut feeling but I think there's a chance of going on a bit of a run if they can get this one. The bad news is on paper that looks pretty unlikely today.

After a glacier-cold start it looks like Urias' ABs are getting better.

Ump already inconsistent missed 2 calls. Marte should have k'd vs walked. Next batter calls strike further outside that actually was a ball. Bases loaded as I type this..and Teheran gets out of it!

Strike 3...

Ump's zone has been wildly inconsistent so far. Might be a long day of one pitch being a strike and then next one there being a ball.

Reds leading by 2 in the 8th…….going for 11 in a row.

Something tells me that streak is going to come to an abrupt end this weekend....

Still, they're dangerous.

I honestly can say I have no clue how Teheran is doing it. Nothing special about his pitch profile.

Veteran savvy...grit...

Yeah, their schedule into the ASB is tough. Braves, Orioles, Brewers (plus a 4-gamer against the hopeless Nats). Heavy BP usage too. They get the off day tomorrow, but the Brewers definitely have the scheduling advantage into the next two weeks.

Too early to be going through all this, of course. I'm just hoping this team can stockpile wins into the break. If they get today's game, I'll be ecstatic.

Another play where we miss Turang….

No matter who’s on the team…..you seem to complain that if we only had somebody else everything would be fine.

Did Turang not need to go down? Of course he did……Urias has been fine defensively since he’s been back.

Good grief.  How long can they keep this hot streak going??
