Woof. last night. My wife said "hey, both your team won!" after I flipped off the Brewers game. She obviously blinked and missed the 90 seconds it took for the wheels to come off and the Brewers lose a game they had firmly in hand.

Stroman is really, really good this year. The Brewers need a different Freddy Peralta than we've seen lately to show up today.

Stroman's been just okay his last three starts. A really good one on June 20th (7 scoreless), but 8 earned runs in his last 9 innings.

Make him throw pitches. With Alzolay throwing again last night, Cubs pen is still not in great shape. Maybe today we see Freddy avoid the big inning.

I like Adames and Brian Anderson to have big days at the plate. Let's get some momentum heading into the Reds series!

My man, love it!

Yeah you can get to him if you can keep the ball up

If Brewers take a nailbiter tonight, this could be atruly classic series worthy of a post season, it's been epic in the ups and downs and either team could have been three games up by now

It's important to get something before the Reds come to town, but Adames has looked significantly better recently, and it's made a huge difference to this offense.

Stroman’s last start on Saturday was delayed about 3 hours by rain and didn’t start until 9 PM. The Guardians scored two runs early and then knocked him out with 4 in the sixth, 3 off Stroman.

So maybe if the Brewers can come up with a reason to delay the start for several hours and hang in there until 11 PM they can get to him.

His previous start was in London against the Cardinals, so maybe the Brewers should try moving this game to Europe and hope Stroman simply doesn’t deal well with foreign trips.

Next level gamesmanship.

I look at this lineup, like I do everyday, and shake my head at how terrible it is.

The saddest part is that this is the best they can do with what they have (unless they want to try to play Contreras every day). And it isn’t like there are injuries to key players who can be expected to come back and provide a boost.

The guys they have hitting 2 through 9 would all be batting at the bottom of the order on a decent hitting team, if they played at all.

 Alzolay.

Isn't that the stuff they found in the soil that forced the government to evacuate that mining town in Oklahoma?

Peralta seems to have hit a real speed bump in his development. That & Woodruff being unavailable have gone a long way towards the bullpen being stressed more than you'd like.

Miller's horrible June has carried over into July and he may be running out of time. Better produce today.

Forget he’s fringe major leaguer/bench guy miscast as a starter… Here we got a Wisconsin native and pre-arbitration eligible…. he’s not going anywhere, there’ll probably be an Owen Miller bobble head next year .

It's really pathetic.  Out of the 8 position players:

1. 4 could be DFA'd tomorrow. (Anderson, Winker, Adames, Tapia).

2. 2 could be sent to AAA tomorrow. (Weimer, Turang).

Thats not even getting into Miller looking horrid at 1b.

Then I look at the Reds lineup today for their getaway game against the Nats, and they have 6 guys with OPS over .700, and four of those are over .800. And that’s with 3 more regulars with OPS over .800 (Friedl, Fraley, and Votto) taking the day off.

It’s no wonder they have picked up 10 games on the Brewers since their 7-15 start. To make up that massive difference in run production the Brewers pitching has to be a lot better than the Reds’ to keep pace with them. For the last 10 weeks it hasn’t been.

Well, the Reds have entered a rain delay in DC. Looks like they'll be able to get the game in, but a longer delay is obviously better for the Brewers, both in terms of pitching and travel.

Playing from behind for the fourth day in a row. Same old Peralta.

Fifth, right? Went down 2-0 in Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Sure would be nice to score first one of these days.

Stroman has Yelich's number for sure.

If I'm the other team.  I'd worry about Yelich and maybe Adames (Contreras if he were in there), As a Brewer fan, the whole lineup scares me.  EDIT: ("Worry" is a relative term.)

Did they say that Peralta hasn’t recorded an out in the 7th inning yet this season?

With 64 pitches to get through 3 innings I think it’s safe to say that string isn’t in jeopardy today.

It all boils down to:

We Can't Hit.

Lol. Yup. Yup, it does.

Owen Miller really struggles at first base. That's a tough throw for sure (and the pick was great), but I've seen firstbasemen make that play look easy.
