Soroka hasn't adapted all too well so far this season, and their own rotation is waiting on Fried to come back still, with a lot of filler pieces in there. It's vaguely similar to facing an on form Reds at this point, although the offense is much more consistent

Brewers will likely need contributions up and down the lineup to take this series, but for Soroka, his sinker has been less effective and has sub optimal movement on his four seamer

Has almost no swing and miss in zone so far this year, so good swing decisions should result in a lot of balls in play.

Soroka came in relief his last appearance for three innings of work, but was stretched out before the all star break well enough. Averaging two home runs per nine so far this year, and hoping the Brewers can get on top of him early, and put some pressure on the Braves for the next two games

This will be an interesting weekend for Milwaukee.    I’m sure our rivals are thinking they can kick up ground on us

Our next ten games are three against the Reds and seven against the Braves, so absolutely! A big big effort leading up to the trade deadline, series against the Reds may again be crucial.

Also Fried's start got pushed back, but he may be coming back in the second series vs MKE

I hope Freddie has a repeat performance like his last outing.  We are going to need that against this team coming into town,

Not going to win too many 2-1 games this weekend. Bats need to show up big time.

Atlanta's first 2 SP in this series are very hittable, so need to take advantage of that and win these first 2.

I would say all 3 SPs are hittable considering Elder has an ERA of 10 this month and was massively overperforming his underlying stats.

Did not realize Elder was performing that poorly this month. Yes definitely all 3 are hittable then.

I liked a lot of what I saw from Peralta his last couple outings. When an AB or two didn't go his way, he didn't flinch. Held his composure, kept making pitches. He failed pretty miserably in that regard earlier this year.

Fortunately it’s only 6 against the Braves with an off day on Thursday.

Only his 25th MLB start at the position.

😬

The infielders better be accurate with their throws.

It might be the right night for this since Freddy Peralta is not known to be a groundball pitcher; this means less throws to first base and possibilities of having to field grounders himself for Caratini.

As Freddy’s leaned on the fastball less his batted ball profile has shifted from 52% fly balls vs 30.5% ground balls as a rookie to 40.8% fly balls vs 39.2% ground balls this year.

Another indicator his fastball may have lost some giddy up is his infield fly ball rate is down to 8.7% this year after sitting at 15.8% from 2019-22.
