OF Jace Avina is doing his best to get above the Mendoza Line. He is 2-for-3 so far today with 2 more RBI. After the Mudcats had tied the game on a 5th inning 2-rbi single by Avina, they took the one run lead on a INF Jadher Areinamo sac fly. However, RHP Tyler Wehrle gave that lead right back with a two-run jack. He just gave up his 2nd 2-run jack of the inning on a two out 1-2 count. Mudcats suddenly trail 8-5.

3B Ben Metzinger just got a hold of one in the 6th to straight away left center field. It was a two run shot with two donw scoring OF Hendry Mendez who had gotten aboard leading off the frame with a single. The T-Rats have tied it up 4-4. DH Darrien Miller stayed red hot early hitting his 7th long ball of 2023 to take the brief 2-1 T-Rats lead. There are two down in the 6th as the Rattlers will look to try to keep the runs scoring.

Boy the Mudcats sure got charitable after they reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the 5th. Must have been the 5-0 series lead and the 13-1 victory Saturday.

The bullpen gives up 13 runs from the 6th onward 🥴 Mudcats lose 17-7.

Nashville needs a home win over Jacksonville tonight to clinch the series 4-2. RHP Justin Jarvis (3.81 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 10.6 K/9 in 85 AA/AAA IP) makes his 3rd AAA start. 1B Keston Hiura has an 11-game on-base steak.

Chourio has raised his batting average by about 30 points over the past couple of weeks or so, which is not easy to do this late in the season. Really impressive stuff.

Any chance Chourio goes up to AAA soon or even the big league club. He is so hot it would make sense to try and bump him up. If he goes to AAA he could be a September call up, also there isn't a great AAA OF group with Frelich up.

In my opinion JC would hit MLB pitching and have an impact on this season- just not sure the Brewers FO would do it.  I fully expect a promotion to AAA soon though.

RHP Justin Jarvis continues to struggle in his adjustment to the International League.

2 1/3 IP, 5 H, 5 BB (yikes), 2 K, 6 ER

That's going to do some damage to the ERA and WHIP...

I don’t see Chourio being pushed to the Major leagues at 19.

2nd half of next year assuming he keeps progressing when he gets to Nashville.

I think next June or so is reasonable. He's still not...walking enough...I guess. LOL...I don't know, you have to squint to find something, but I don't think it's a great idea to take him just as he's settled in and gotten into a groove and throw him into a pennant race.
