Mitchell?  He hasn't even started a rehab assignment yet.

He wouldn't need to do a rehab if he is just going to be a pinch runner in September.

So……..Tehran pitching today…….don’t think many thought he would the choice for Saturday but it can now be ruled out………down to Rae, Gasser or possibly Lauer I guess.

ps.Winker, Hiura and Black are all in the lineup as well…….not that they couldn’t play tonight and then be called up tomorrow.

Wasn't Rea originally scheduled to start tonight? If so, that would be telling.

Sounds have a doubleheader tonight. Maybe he’s slated to pitch game two?

CBS has Reah listed for Saturday FWIW.     Who knows if they're just guessing but its likely they're basing off something of substance, but with two days things can change.

Yes Rea was originally listed as starter of game 2 tonight and Caleb Boushley is not listed as game 2 starter. Definitely seems like Rea is getting the start on Saturday.

I'm actually starting to wonder which position player they're going to call up. All of the leading candidates playing for Nashville tonight.

Owen Miller didn't play in either double header and I saw Gasser in the dugout. So Miller and Rea seems the best guess to me.

Yeah. I forgot about Miller. Man, those would be some pretty meh callups.

What is it about Gasser that the Brewers don’t like? They’ve had numerous opportunities to bring him up throughout the year and have passed every time. He’s 24 years old and has had a very solid year. Not sure what the Brewers are waiting for at this point.

Service time?

I guess but at 24 years old, that should be the least of their concerns.

Could also just not want Gasser to debut against a red hot Phillies lineup that has been crushing LHP lately.

Plus, Rea also did decently against them in PHI.

I personally think they should start using Gasser out of the bullpen in Nashville.

Prior to today Teheran was a potential callup but he looked horrible today, probably safe to just DFA him if they need room on the 40 man at some point.

Hiura has been amazing all season with the lowest K% of his career and he's already 27. Why even keep him in the system if they're not going to call him up on an offense starved team? Let him pursue an opportunity somewhere else.

He can't play until Sept 14th I don't believe. He was put on the 60 day DL by the Yankees and that's his first eligible day back.

So I guess he can rehab in Nashville until then?

60-day IL designation went away when the Yankees released him. He’s eligible to be brought-up at any time.

Due to the change in teams, the 60 day gets reassessed. Apparently fit and ready to go, they want to get him some AB's in Nashville to get his timing and once they think he's ready he'll be up, but there aren't any constraints

Still a toss up between Gasser and Rea, could be either

Ok...I just read that he wasn't eligible until the 14th on....MLB rumors or something, but I'll defer to you and @SF70 since you seem confident.

Again, peripherals look strong.

92.8 Exit Velo
~51% hard hit rate
10% BB rate

Seems like he could help.

If he can't...well, we're not sitting down Eddie Matthews to try him out, so...worth the potential payoff.
