Nationals (Corbin) vs Brewers (Woodruff): 9/17/23, 1:10pm

While they're scoring more runs the fact that this is the third time in eight days that they went nine innings on one run or less is still concerning

Can’t believe that double play to end the game. Just shrug at that, I guess.

But this type of offensive performance is what we can potentially dread seeing show up in a playoff series. As noted above, there is that concern over lack of run scoring with this lineup.

No reason to go crazy over a loss but the fact is this lineup sucks and its going to be very difficult winning playoff series without anyone even close to being a star.

Did Rowdy pinch-hit for Monasterio? Would have rather just seen him bat vs Rowdy in that situation. Oh well.

No he went in on the double switch when Turang ran for Santana……Donaldson was removed.

I couldn't help but notice a big contrast today. Very 1st inning. Nats were rocked by the late heroics yesterday. Corbin immediately has a 1st & 3rd, one out to deal with, including issuing a walk. Here we go again? Pressure all on the pitcher? Nope. Without seeing a pitch yet in the game Willy swings at the 1st pitch & pops up.

Compare that to Frelicks' last AB, where he drew the walk to load the bases. No, it didn't lead to a run, but just such a complete contrast w/regards to "owning" your AB, as opposed to wanting to get it over with.

Pretty nice job by the "B team" bullpen. Just couldn't get the sticks going.

Sure seems like lately it's either a big inning or no inning.

While it's nice to be able to have big innings when it becomes playoff time it's going to become more important to be able to scratch a runner two more often

Its hard to score when you have no stars in the entire lineup and when it usually takes 3 hits since we have so little power.

"No reason to go crazy" ... but you're going to follow it up with a completely hyperbolic statement ripping on the hottest team in baseball. Got it.

Nothing hyperbolic about saying this offense sucks. The team has a great pitching staff and a lineup that will probably be the worst of any playoff team.

Gotcha, thanks.
