I suppose a celebration is in order.  Though the team hasn't put us in the mood lately.

A World Series win might send Ueck into the Corn Field.

Hint...Field of Dreams.

Losing three straight is not the direction we want to be gong. Let’s win the last 5.

Of the teams currrently in the field I least want to face the Phillies.

I would rather face the Braves or Dodgers.

I would not want to play the Chicago team. Rivalries tend to even things out.

Big Woo with the “nobody believes in us” angle.  I love it—playoff mindset engaged.  Have to have the chip on your shoulder, circle the wagons, all those old chestnuts.

Chicago delenda est

Will be interesting to see the final Vegas odds once the field is set.

Has there been any team in history that felt everybody believed in them

That most likely not going to happen. I’m sure Craig will rest some of his regulars, minimize starters from pitching  100 pitches, rest relievers with more times between games, etc.

Don’t want to burn out the bullpen arms either.    There will be a balancing act.

hasnt it been awhile since devin pitched.       He needs a couple of innings too

Why does Craig keep going to him?

I have been saying that for 2 months, he gives up 3 runs every 3 innings plus whoever is on base when he comes in. That is not a recipe to win a world series.

Why does Craig keep going to him?  Chafin that is.

They were losing by three runs, so Williams, Payamps and Uribe were likely out of the equation.

Milner (the only other lefty) had already pitched, as had Wilson.

With Megill on paternity leave and Teheran throwing three innings on Sunday, that left Chafin, Bukauskas or Rea as the options to come in and face the lefty Nootbar in that situation.

Chafin allowed a walk and a single, but also recorded two outs and allowed zero runs in his appearance.

Craig keeps going to him because he is on the roster and someone has to pitch low leverage innings to save the good relievers for higher leverage situations.

😫STOP BEING LEVEL-HEADED😫!!!!

I think I mentioned this once before in one of Chafins' outings, but in this most recent one he actually threw some pretty good 0-2 & 1-2 pitches. Problem was he was never at 0-2 or 1-2. Once he started facing RHH he became ultra-careful with a man/men on base. Where he caused himself problems was in falling behind & walking Nootbar. That can't happen.

'zactly.  Get ready for a lot of Teheran, Rea, Bukaskas, and Chafin on the mound and Anderson, Monasterio, Perkins, and Taylor in the field.
