In light of the Woodruff news I'm taking the Brewers in 2.

The Woodruff news elinimates the advantage the Brewers thought they had, but I’ll still take them to win in 3. Just add Carlos Gomez and Nyjer Morgan to the playoff roster. 

The chances of the Brewers beating the Dodgers if they do advance just went from slim to slimmer.

Is Woodruff really worth an 8 game difference in the standings? Brewers already have the biggest pitching advantage of the series tomorrow in the most important game. 

Gallen and Kelly are good, of course, and going to be tough to hit, but you still have Freddy Peralta (one of the best pitchers in baseball since July) and Wade Miley, not to mention the best bullpen in baseball. A Yelich or Contreras injury would be far more impactful. 

The real effects of the Woody injury will be felt in subsequent rounds where the series are longer.

In light of the woody news my prediction is

Semi joking aside, it will probably got 3 and hopefully Miley can crafty us to a win with a pinch hit walkout by tplush.

I'll take Blue Jays in 2. Picking the Twins to lose until proven otherwise (Sorry, Brock...I assure I am rooting for the Twins, just feeling my wife's Minnesota sports fatalism more and more all the time).

Marlins in 3 (when Miami makes the playoffs, they win the WS).

Rays in 2.

DBacks in 3. We're good. We're probably better. I just think the DBacks can win in more ways. The Brewers have a TON of pressure on them Game 1. The DBacks can lose Game 1, get a low-scoring win Game 2, and then be in the driver's seat. I hope I'm wrong. I'll be all-in emotionally no matter what.

Crazy to see the Dodgers swept. I was deeply unhappy when the Brewers were swept, but that's how baseball works sometimes. Our heroes don't get it done. I guess somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright, the band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light.
