What is "a ways in"? Can you just give a timestamp?

Never would have thought this a week ago, but....there are Brewers fans that want CC gone.  His 1-9 recent playoff record adds fuel to the fire.  Playing Winker doesn't help.

I like him and hope he stays, but he might be thinking about leaving now instead of being told to leave in a couple years if or when the team turns south in the standings. No Burnes and Woodruff could do that.

Cool he is from Milwaukee and has done outstanding here, but it would not feel great for him to be told to go.  It might be why he is thinking of leaving now to spend time with the family or grab the bag somewhere else.  Plus, if he leaves now, Milwaukee would gladly welcome him back almost any time that the Brewers are looking for a future manager hire. The bridge would not be burned here.

I think the Blue Jays are going to fire their manager.  This is going to be the most attractive job in MLB this is basically the perfect landing spot for Counsell he won't have to go through a rebuild with the Mets and Blue Jays will pay for someone like CC.  If it would be hard for CC to turn down a lot of money from the Mets how difficult would it be for CC to turn down a lot of money and have a WS talented team in the Blue Jays?

Okay so he said Mets could offer a 5 year $30M deal? I mean the Brewers could very easily match that if they wanted to keep Counsell.

That wouldn't even be the highest paid MLB manager as it would be about 500k less than what Roberts is being paid.

Stephen Vogt is an interesting name should he leave.

I actually think Vogt is #1 for the Mets and not CC because the Mets are going to have to go through a rebuild a bit.

Mets rebuild isn’t going to take long….’.if CC wants that job he’ll get it.

I would LOVE to have Stephen Vogt back in the dugout. So many "I Believe" chants. And I do. I believe in Stephen Vogt.

I struggle with what Council would want to do. On one hand a $300 million payroll and being the highest paid coach in the league is tough to turn down, however his kids are in HS (or just graduated) and Milwaukee is home.

I really like the idea of Vogt if CC leaves. however the jump from bullpen coach to head coach might be a bit steep.

CC made the jump from front office guy to manager.

Do we know if Arnold is staying or wants to stay? His contract ends this year too.

Didn't he sign an extension after the Mets approached him before hiring Eppler?

I’m almost positive he did.

Knew article……..pay the man Mark……that is my comment…….if he wants to stay he is worth 5 million…..https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2023/10/08/major-league-baseball-managers-grossly-underpaid/71106218007/

It was assumed that his contract ended after 2023. However, teams are under no obligation to announce extension or terms of FO people. For all we know they already did an extension or are simply planning to do one this offseason while upgrading his title.

And really…I think the assumption might have been wrong. Why would the Brewers having Stearn’s and Arnold have expiring contracts after the same season. That would be pretty dumb. Arnold has always been groomed to take over for Stearns, even Attanasio was pretty clear about that.
