MLBPA now involved in players concerns over 2024 uniforms

I have kind of been following this, as a long time hater of the fanatics brand. 

I saw this blog post last night that featured a photo of the brewers road alternates that look noticeably worse than what was in 2023 Nike's template.

My issues with Nike were always not about the quality of a Nike product, but rather their instance of having so many alternatives for the NBA and MLB its hard to recognize who is who anymore (Bucks in blue or yellow?). Anything I ever got from Fanatics just looked cheap. I am surprised MLB went this way and now are in an embarrassing situation. 

I know this is a minor issue, but to expect fans to purchase 175 dollar jerseys, they should be getting a quality product.

Substantive labor relations between the MLBPA and MLB must be really good if this is what the MLBPA wants to spend their time complaining about.

kind of my point. Its not a big deal who outfits MLB teams, but if fans want an on field jersey they have to buy a fanatics one.  Its disappointing that you can't buy the "official locker room" tshirts that aren't fanatics branded. When the bucks won it all I found an Antigua polo that was pretty nice because I won't spend a penny on that garbage brand.

This whole thing reminds me of when NBA players complained about the game ball when Wilson took over for Spalding. We heard about it for a few weeks and them everyone forgot about it and now players never complain.

I'm no fan of nike either, but not because of quality its more of letting teams have 4-6 different jerseys in a multitude of colors that some are not even primary colors for the team to sell more jerseys.

People are extremely sensitive to enshittification right now because we see it happening everywhere and Fanatics is a crappy company with a monopoly so things will surely get worse than they already are.

Alot of people seem to hate fanatics and I don't want to dismiss their experiences, but I will say I've ordered a ton of stuff from fanatics( example I have over a dozen Bucks championship tshirts) and I've never really noticed lackluster quality

Curious if it’s fanatics brand or from the website. Wasn’t the champ shirts Nike?

I have a small closet's worth of championship gear I couldn't wear because of Fanatics. The cheapest, flimsiest crap I've ever purchased.

The players wear this stuff about 200 days a year. If they have complaints (and it’s more than the visuals, players are complaining about fit and quality as well), it’s the union’s job to voice their complaints.

I'm confused. Is this the uniforms the players are wearing or the stuff they're selling to fans? If it's the uniforms then this is a big problem. If it's the merchandise, then just don't buy it. It's overpriced no matter what the quality.

I despise Fanatics.  Dirty move they pulled to acquire Topps as well, so I'm sure baseball card quality won't be trending upward either.
