Murph “ I said to Yelly before the game……I’m thinking about hitting the kid first……am I crazy? “

“ Yelly said…..do it……he’ll be fine…..and he was”

Better than most restaurants.

I've only had them once.  I must have gotten some old ones or something, because they were awful.

I'll have to give them another shot.  My kids love them, although my kids would eat shoe leather if I told them it was chicken strips.

With regard to the game, yay team.  Great win.  Hoskins' slide was late, but my god McNeill, overreact much?

I think that Hoskins just hasn't had a lot of practice sliding lately.

It could have been a non issue if either one of them was willing to let it go after the first 30 seconds. Now we're going to see what happens when Hoskins takes one in the ribs.

Sophia is an unsung Brewers media hero

I love her interviews

And then deal with the critics who complain that she says “he said” too often.

I haven’t figured out yet exactly how she’s supposed to report on conversations, both when interpreting or summarizing off camera conversations.

This win looked a lot like last season.  Good start from Peralta, solid defense, great work by the bullpen and just enough offense to win.  Great start to the season for Yelich.

And has McNeil stopped whining yet?  Good grief.  I get an initial reaction but you even lost the replay review.  Just shut up already.

Yup its her only issue/quirk.  If you notice she has none or next none of the "umm, y'know, uhh," little things that almost all of us subconsciously do all day long without the pressure of a camera on. That is really impressive.   Her only thing is the 'he said' and with how she's cleaned out all the other ones I'm guessing she could if she wanted but it almost seems like it allows her to take a breath when running out of air.   To what you said, she just has to diversify it to "he continued, he mentioned, also, he said, in addition" etc.   But I'm with you, she's really good and if that's her only tick she's better than almost everyone else.

Disagree. Hoksins knew he screwed up right away. It wasn't on purpose.

That was so obviously intentional and he was laughing as he trotted off. And well, he also confirmed it after the game.

Counsell never wanted to get into beanball wars, which I generally agree with. Murphy seems a little more old school. Although, Hoskins getting one should be an automatic ejection and put an end to anything but umpires almost never throw a guy out the first guy to throw at someone.

It's uncommon, but if they throw at Hoskins tomorrow the pitcher should absolutely be ejected. Last year in AAA Gasser hit the first batter of the game the day after a benches clearing situation and he was ejected and suspended.

I think it was about 2-3 years ago that they redid the chicken and made it much better.  I suppose you could get one that is sitting there a long time, but the ones I've had are huge, juicy, and excellent taste.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I'm betting he'll be sporting a big round bruise after tomorrow.

I remember watching a few of those Phillies Mets games that got pretty nasty.

I looked again and I saw no laughing. It definitely was intentional as he stated that he was trying to break up a double play. But that's not illegal. The rule states: When sliding into a base in an attempt to break up a double play, a runner has to make a "bona fide slide."... He made no attempt to lift his leg to contact him, change his path to hit him, or lose contact with the base.  He did go spikes first but again, not illegal. The full rule is here.

In McNeill's interview, his complaint was that he was not trying to turn a double play so there was no reason for the late slide. How they heck would Hoskin's know that? He cant see if its close at first. Also, McNeill was clearly trying to make a transfer to his throwing hand as he lost the ball. I get that McNeill could have gotten hurt so I understand some offense taken, but he was going on for a long time about this.  If he doesn't want to get hurt, he should have jumped up after he caught the ball instead of keeping his foot planted. We used to see this all the time before this rule change.

The slide was legal, even McNeil acknowledged that in postgame.

“There’s dirty slides, there’s clean slides, there’s in-between slides,” McNeil added. “It’s a gray line. It wasn’t called. It’s unfortunate. … It was a legal slide, so I just want to leave it at that.”
