I like Contreras leading off.

I like home runs and doubles with men on base even more.

You ask a lot of a guy leading off the game

This. I never got why Counsell had Thames lead off as much as he did.

Ideally, a good line-up goes:

CF: Frelick

RF: Chourio

LF: Yelich

C: Conteras

1B: Hoskins

3B: Dunn

SS: Adames

DH: Sanchez

2B: Turang

I just want him to get on base, and have the speed to steal second (or turn a single into a double/double into a triple).

Me too, clearly should have gone Hoskins - Contreras instead.

If you saw my earlier post I was questioning having Contreras and Hoskins hitting 1-2 instead of having at least the chance of someone being on base for their first AB’s..

Going forward in the game it makes less difference with Perkins in front of them instead of Wiemer.

Hope I’m wrong but this has the feeling of a blowout.  Burnes will settle in and Rea looks like he’s going to struggle with this Baltimore lineup.

If he’s not going to wear a cap, I hope for his sake that Ripken puts a lot of sunscreen in the top of his bald head.

I like Contreras second because he gets on base a lot and can advance a leadoff runner by hitting to right.

Hoskins with his DP and base clogging potential is more of a number 5 hitter for me.
