Cardinals have a big weapon on their side tonight.

It’s game 3 in our 10 pack and our luck has not been good in the first two games we attended this year, continuing a trend from last season.

No Chourio in the starting lineup for the 4th straight game…No Ortiz either again. What are we even doing?

Gotta get Frelick, Dunn, and Perkins in there, though.

Because we are going tonight we get the Sunday lineup:

Yelich getting a rest, Bauers batting cleanup, Frelick 6th, and Dunn instead of Ortiz.

No wonder we see so many clunkers.

They must be working through some things with Chourio……..if not either get him in the lineup or send him down so he can play.

Which is pretty bizarre to me considering he was putting together some of his best at bats as a big leaguer before this four game stretch. Was hitting over .300 the last week and his K rate has dovetailed.

Lineup missing three studs - Yelich, Ortiz, & Chourio

I’m ready for Murph to retire 😉

His nicknames are cute but his infatuation with Dunn & game decisions are off putting

I hope Yelich is sitting just because they don’t think he’s ready to go 3 days in a row and not because his back is acting up already.

Is he injured?

This is odd game after game with no explanation

Murph confirms just a day off for Yeli……in case anyone was worried

Have they confirmed anything on Chourio? Has anyone asked about why he's glued to the pine outside of getting the Lenny Harris treatment?

The Dunn / Ortiz platoon is frustrating

I believe the right / lefty starting pitcher split is like 70/30

Ortiz needs to play 80% of the time

I’m just as disappointed today as I was when Murphy was hired as manager

I’m aware we are in first place but I don’t believe he is responsible for our early season success

It's all good. Freddy is throwing a complete game shutout so the lineup is a moot point.

He’s due a great game

He’s been okay but not exceptional in his last few starts

That’s a relief.

The Brewers would never be anything but open and honest about an injury.

Possibly because Chourio is hitting 221/265/345/610 this year and 206/250/309/559 over the last month? He probably does need to go down for a while to get back on track.

Meanwhile, Bauers is hitting 108+ on the year and 260/327/540/867 over the last month.  Not sure why people are so down on him? He minimized his leg kick and seems to be on fire since.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Perhaps Murphy meant dog days.

This Bauers and Dunn fetish has to stop. One thing Counsell always did was interrupt hitters’ rhythms. As soon as someone gets going they sat inexplicably. As stated on this thread, Chourio was starting to put together some really good at-bats, now he mysteriously gets four games off while Frelicks’ at bats look more pathetic by the day, and this soft platoon with Ortiz is downright maddening. Looks like Murph inherited some bad habits from Counsell.
