Easy to cheer for guys like Willy and Wild Bill.  They aren't old, and baseball isn't physically hard...PLAY everyday cuz it's fun...  They get months off at a time to rest and recoup...

Contreras going from not even in the lineup to catching today seems a bit unnecessary. Why not DH with Sanchez catching?

Peralta consistently disappoints me

His talent is undeniable

His performance is always up & down

He Is a solid # 3 starter - not an ace

I wouldn’t trust him in a must win playoff game

Should have been more concerned with Peralta than the lineup.

No excuses against this lineup Freddy.

He is what he is which is probably an upper end mid-rotation starter.  He just is never going to be that guy.

Calling Freddy a mid-rotation guy is crazy talk. He's not an ace, but saying he's mid rotation is fiction.

No, it isn't

He just doesn't have a strikeout pitch and he's making so many uncompetitive pitches.

Freddy has the 5th highest K-rate among qualified MLB pitchers this year...pretty dang impressive for a guy who doesn't have a strikeout pitch.

I meant today he doesn't have a strikeout pitch.

You've got to be able to give the team 7 solid innings against this lineup. With the pitch count this high we will be lucky to get 3.

He needs to find said strikeout pitch today

2021 - 22nd in fWAR

2022 - injured

2023 - 29th in fWAR

2024 - 28th in fWAR

A top 30 SP is only mid-rotation if there were 10 teams in the MLB

I'd feel a lot better if this team had at least signed an innings eater like Lorenzen. These short starts nearly every day are going to come back to bite us.

Are you watching the same game I’m watching?

This is far too common for Freddy this year

He’s a mid-rotation pitcher on a championship team

They did sign an innings eater.  He got hurt.
