Everyone hates the Cubs. That’s a given. Of course STL, Pittsburg and Cincinnati. But,everyone has that team. “I hope we stomp the crap out ‘em. I hate that team so much.” The team when they are talked about,it causes a little rage or perhaps maybe even a eye roll

For me, it’s the Dodgers. I hate their logo. I hate their fanbase. Hate how their payroll is absolutely absurd. At any given moment you can turn on MLB network and see them talking about something Dodgers are doing, about to do or have done. Then you got bandwagon fans. Or people that just wear the hat because it’s “LA”.  Seems like every year they are favored to go/win the World Series.

and as if THAT wasn’t enough, there's a guy at work who is a big Dodgers fan. Everyday I go in to work I have to hear about the Dodgers. As if there wasn’t enough resentment towards the Dodgers for me already.

What’s your team?

I will have to go with the Mets because they try and try and try to purchase there team every year and I disliked Stearns as a GM.  Matt Arnold is 10 times the GM as Sterns was.

From the AL the Twins and from the NL Giants.  The Giants fans are like Cardinals fans just hipsters instead of whatever misery is.  The Twins I just hate them because they are the Twins.

I go with Boston stemming back to the early 00s era duels with NYY.  I never got how NYY was this hated team due to their spending and all that, remember 'evil empire' and all that talk. Meanwhile, Boston was the exact same thing but everyone acted like they're not.  Essentially, at least NYY owned what they were, meanwhile Bos tried to act like they were some plucky underdog while in reality they were the same things.   Combine that with overall Boston sports fans being unbearable. For example, I was just on a call with two Boston guys. Few mins of them talking about Finals tonight and how Celts are gonna blow it etc. You guys have won like 16 titles the last 25 years yet are non stop whining, pessimism, and negativity.

There are different types of hate. I enjoy hating the Cubs. I don't enjoy hating the Cardinals. My Cardinals hate is more visceral. My Cubs hate is rivalry hate.

Similarly, I "enjoy" hating the Yankees and the Dodgers. It's an obligatory hate all opposing fanbases share.

The closest I have to my visceral, Cardinals hate, is the Braves. I hated Ted Turner for putting all their games on TBS.

I realize many around here are still fond of the Braves site to the Milwaukee connection, but not me.

If the Brewers don't win the division I should be banned. However, they will.

I recall many years ago when Boston finished last in their division.  Peter Gammons (Red Sox Apologist) got on ESPN and said something to the effect of:

"I still think they are the best team in the AL East."

That sealed it for me.  The Yankees are up there simply because of the rivalry from the late 70's and early 80's.  Not to the same frustration I have for the Red Sox.

I dislike the Twins because of the Minnesota thing and then I usually end up hating whatever big-market teams are successful.

Red Sox.

Don't like the city or the accent or its politics and the favoritism of MLB TV scheduling and I really hate the Celtics since the 60's.

My hate for the Orioles goes back to the 70s and 80s. The series to finish the 82 season just about killed me. Murray, Palmer, Singleton, DeCinces, Lowenstein/Roenicke, and of course, Earl Weaver. I hated them. Still feel that way today, although with how pathetic they have been for most of the last decade (THREE 100-loss seasons? Really? Including a 47-115 year?), it's different now. Angelos was pretty easy to hate as well.

Dodgers, the fanbase is quite pathetic. You go to Dodgers Stadium and it is a stadium filled with losers and frankly the most unmidwestern vibe ever.

Not really a fan of the Phillies either. Again, the fanbase is just kind of pathetic.

I tend to hate MN less since the Brewers are in the NL.  1987 still stings though... Plus Kent Hrbek pushed him off the bag with the tag.

But I'd cheer for a MN/MIL World Series where we sweep them.

Beyond St. Louis (#1) and Cubs (a close #2), the Yanks draw the rest of my ire.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."
