Yelich and Contreras are the only likely two players to be all stars for the Brewers.  Depending on who are the only AS's for the Nationals, Rockies, Cubs, Mets and Pirates it is unlikely Turang makes it same with Ortiz and the many bullpen arms deserving of an AS bid for the Brewers.

I bet it will be closer to five - Yelich, Contreras, Turang, Hudson, Megill.  The only reason I'm not listing Ortiz is because McMahon is likely to be the only COL rep and thus the likely backup 3B.

Which 2B deserves it more than Turang?  The only ones really even in the conversation are India (bad team, EDLC will be selected as the backup SS so do the Reds deserve another rep?) and Croenenworth (better team, but fighting with Profar, Tatis, Merrill, Arraez, and Cease to be the Padres reps and the Brewers deserve more reps than the Padres).  Maybe Arraez, but he's not even playing 2B for the Padres and Turang has a better offensive stat line anyway.

Peralta with a Jekyll-Hyde performance

gave up two hits & a walk in the first inning including a HR to start the game … nothing since

great recovery - frustrating inconsistency

Nobody on this site but you uses “Freddy” and “ace” in the same sentence, but by all means, keep calling him out during a 7-inning, one-run outing. He gave up one run, and that’s Jekyll and Hyde to you.

I believe you are smarter than that - Jekyll & Hyde to me refers to his inconsistency from start to start

he recovered nicely today after another poor first inning

Happy to entertain you

Freddy Peralta since the All-Star Break last year:

29 GS -- 3.47 ERA, 3.25 FIP, 2.98 xFIP -- 33% K, 7% BB

#12 SP in MLB in FIP-WAR

#21 SP in MLB in RA9-WAR

#3 SP in MLB in K-BB% (min. 100 IP)

#4 SP in MLB in xFIP (min. 100 IP)

And people on here talk about trading this guy? Removed from reality.

You may want to pay closer attention

I do not consider him an ace

I have never & will never referred to him as an ace

Many others have done so - he is most certainly not an ace

Peralta is a great #3 starter who occasionally (like today) is extremely good

Of the 15 games 9 wins have come with 5 runs or more with only 4 of those 15 wins being less than 4 runs.  Sounds about average scoring to me.

Coming into today, the Brewers were 11th of the 14 NL teams in runs scored in June averaging  exactly 4 runs per game. That is below average.

The pitching and defense have been largely responsible for the winning month.

One thing the Brewers have not had lately is the big scoring games that skew the numbers. Today is the first time in 20 games that they have scored as many as 7, so they haven’t had as many “piling on” runs as they had earlier in the season.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Have we ever had a team that won so many games with one big inning?

It helps when you have a grand slam every game

Unpopular opinion … I would not mind if the Brewers traded Peralta at the deadline

I understand that we are short on quality starting pitching - but Freddy needs a reset & he’s not improving in Milwaukee

I know this won’t happen - but I wouldn’t miss him at all

I love his personality but dislike his inability to pitch to his level of talent

I prefer to channel surf when the Brewers are on defense with Peralta on the mound - he is so disappointing to watch this year

Even his “good games” - like his recent 6 inning with no runs performance - are not great pitching as he is pitch count is far too high

Yes I’m frustrated but this is genuinely how I feel - I believe we’re better off without him on the team

I accept that I may be alone in my opinion - which is fine with me

I acknowledge that this post did not age well - & as a devoted Brewers fan … I’m glad

I don't even agree with your premise it seems like you picked a number to agree with your "pilling on" runs.  I think 6 runs or more would be more of a qualifier of "piling on" runs as 4 runs on average is going to win you a game more times than not.  The Brewers have scored 6 runs or more 8 times this month.  So they have been "piling on" runs plenty enough.

Putting him on CC alert.

He’s getting close to being like last year’s adames.    We don’t want last years adames

I believe most are coming from Kenosha and Racine as both are basically Chicago suburbs.
