Well, crap. This is getting way too close. I'm surprised they didn't bring in a lefty, but Junis had been pitching pretty well.

Unpopular opinion - Murphy is not a good “in game” manager

Yeah, I don't see them going after a guy like Crochet. I see more like Fedde as the highest they'll go, but we shall see. They want a ransom for Crochet and probably quite a lot still for Fedde.

So when we sell Burnes we have to settle for a couple of prospects but when it comes to buying a similar pitcher we have to pay through the nose?

One year of Burnes vs two and a half years of Crochet.

That said, Crochet is already at his career high in innings, he's an arm injury waiting to happen.

Keuchel was signed to eat innings and keep us in games, nothing more.  No way did they think he'd be anything more than that.

5.1 innings 2 earned runs

4.1 innings, 0 earned runs

3.0 innings, 3 earned runs.

I'm sure they want more than 3 innings out of him, but we sign a garbage pitcher, everyone knows he's a garbage pitcher, yet people want to complain about the results?

In all honesty, he's been way better than I expected...

I never said it had to be Crochet. And people act like it's an impossibility that Burnes will stay in Baltimore.

I'm sick and tired of being content to just be good enough to make the playoffs and be competitive but never a serious World Series contender: just good enough to put butts in the seats. I've been a Brewers fan for over 40 years and have only seen three years where a World Series championship was realistic. I'd like to live long enough to see it be a reality at least once and if it means trading away some prospects that are hardly a guarantee to be anything special than so be it.

I think Winker knew he should have struck out on the previous pitch, so he just decided to wave at the last one...

Usually Umps are only egregiously bad when granting strikes on should have been balls, but on that one the entire ball was within the strike zone....

Good grief, this homeplate ump has been atrocious. Even when he calls strikes I detest his slow deliberate motion. No consistency. Brutal.

We could trade away our top 10 prospects this year for rotation/bullpen help and upgrades in the field and we still wouldn’t be favored against Dodgers or Phillies. I disagree with most of what you are saying.

The Brewers have 2 singles since the 1st inning. This is a major league team slump. I don’t think they are coming back tonight. This team looks beaten.

Love how the offense just completely shut down after the 1st like they thought they were getting the Keuchel from the Astros.

What the heck is wrong with this team?!??!

Oh yeah. Bad pitching; lazy hitting.

Oy. The game is 9 innings, guys.
