Tyler will be a Filer ... filing his fingernails in the clubhouse early,

as the Brewers offense will be surly!

Marlins will wish they were already on the outgoing bus,

as they whiff on the stuff of Tobias!

Turang is the only guy in the line up with an OPS under .700.....and he hits lead-off.

Why would you want a player with power to lead off?  Babe Ruth (left) ranks first all-time in AL-NL history with a career 1.164 OPS, Ted Williams is second with a 1.116 lifetime OPS.  While longtime Yankees teammate Lou Gehrig is third at 1.079 OPS.

None of them were leadoff hitters.

Yeah.........equating a low OPS with why someone shouldn't lead off, that's a new one on me. The only others that fit up there are either not in the lineup, or also not hitting.

I surely hope today is the day we play a sound fundamental baseball game

Even the post All-Star game wins have been ugly

I’m ready for all the slumping bats to rebound & get aligned as they were earlier this year - that was FUN to watch

Not sure what if any trades will make a difference - hopefully adding our own healthy players off the IL & two or three bats getting hot will do the trick

So a commonly used metric to gauge a hitters effectiveness is not way to evaluate weather that hitter should get more at bats than other hitters that perform better in that metric?  No, that seems weird.

You can have a relatively high OPS & be effective in the leadoff spot (Schwarber is probably a good example) but I don't think it's a prerequisite.

Some people put most/all of the emphasis on 'getting the extra AB' when looking at the leadoff spot in the order. I don't. If Turang continues to struggle getting on base up there, yep, it's a negative. He has to get better, that's the most important thing. I agree with @nate82, there isn't exactly a boatload of options.

We have been unable to watch this series (Comcast and Bally Sports Florida are in dispute so we can't get Bally Sports Wisconsin either).  Seeing the scores it looks like we haven't missed much.  Is this game being delayed?

Looking at about a dozen games today and the Braves, Cubs  and White Sox are the only teams that had a lead-off hitter with an OPS under .700,  The VAST majority of those were well above .700.

I’m so ****** sick of this.  Just pitch a damn opener every game.    These starters put us behind all the time before we even ****** bat.

I get blacked out for all Marlins and rays games.  VPN is an amazing thing.

Myers is channeling his inner Peralta

Homer, double and HBP and still a far better inning than Peralta has put together lately.
