It seems to be the Brewer way to be unable to advance the runner with less than two outs, then get the big two out hit to score the run the hard way.

I do wonder whether the philosophical aversion to conceding outs is to blame here. Going for the big inning results in a goose egg way too often with this team.

Anyone know the metrics on Chourio defense? He seems to make mistakes but he also gets to everything. I'm guessing metrics are pretty good?

The metrics are very good. He's among the league leaders in DRS.

Hit and run and the contact play get us a run.

The Ortiz steal also meant that Haase's grounder wasn't a double play. That's about as textbook a case of baserunning manufacturing a run as you can get.

And after I made a comment about the runner-on-third-with less-than-two-outs they go and totally redeem themselves.

438 innings in LF he is +5 DRS and -1 FRV.

453 innings in RF he is +9 DRS and +7 FRV.

Among 93 OF with at least 500 innings this year his +14 DRS is 3rd and his +6 FRV tied for 16th.

SABR Defensive Index which is used for Gold Glove purposes has him the top RF in the MLB at +7.9.

Very interesting. I thought so. Just brings added value besides the bat. Great 👍 Also wonder if coming up playing center has made him better overall outfielder.

Rea, 46 pitches through four scoreless

That's one way to put it.  Another would be that the Guardians do not have a hit.

I was thinking the HBP was a hit. So the fact you pointed out wasn’t on my mind

Kind of lame the roof is closed today. There is no chance of rain and the high is 75.

AFF is a great place to see a game, unless the roof is closed, it's hot, and there's no air movement. In that case, it's horrible.

Attended the game last night—can confirm, if the panels are also closed. The first few innings had roof AND panels closed, and it was brutal. But when the panels opened up it made a huge difference

Honestly, a no-no is one of the last things we need right now. Rea hurling 120+ pitches in late August is not exactly how I’d like us to utilize our finite pitching resources.
