We are severely going to miss Willy's bat next year.  MLB economics suck.

Why would we not sign Adames? Let's say 4 for 100 million. Why couldn't the Brewers do that? Considering outside of Yelich nobody makes any money and they are going to save money on Chourio Why not? Makes no sense to me.

If Adames was willing to sign for 4/100 it would have happened already.

He’s gonna be shooting for double that while hoping to settle for a something north of Dansby money, 7/177.

TCV will be more than that.  And our owner is too cheap to buy dirt.

At a certain point Brewers have to keep a couple guys to build around. I mean they got ahead on Chourio so kudos but man wasted money on Hoskins is not nearly as appealing as keeping a stud shortstop.

But you're living in the moment. As hot as he is right now, history has shown he can go just as cold for as long if not longer. Plus, his defense has slipped. Whoever Adames ultimately signs with will be overpaying just like any other top tier free agent. I'm good with a Turang/Ortiz middle infield going into the future and it won't cost us nearly as much.

I think Adames is going to be looking at 6 years and $150+ million in free agency. He's - hands down - the best shortstop in the free agency market this coming off season. Dansby Swanson got 7-years/$177 million. Carlos Baez got six years and $140m. Trea Turner got 11-years and $300 million. Xander Bogaerts got 11-years and $280m. Correa got 6-yeras and $200 million.

I think Swanson is the closest comp. Willy will be a year older coming into free agency. But he's still only 29. They are similar average hitters, but Willy has a little more power. Both are good glove guys. The one red flag for Adames is his less than stellar season in the field this year. I mean, it's probably just an anomaly - but perhaps teams hold it against him.

So I think 6-years and $150m is the floor for Adames (unless something weird happens in the next four weeks - such as an injury).

lol and Walker leads off next inning

It was reported that Brewers offered him over 100M and he turned it down……when guys get this close to free agency they usually want to test the market
