Not sure anyone should get upset about any at-bat in the first inning.

That Bauers at bat is worthy

Winker getting a big playoff hit against the Brewers, then yapping it up proves there’s no justice in the world. Like a thief coming back to the crime scene to laugh at us.

Find a way to overcome, men. We can do it.

Bauers is going to get a clutch hit to win the game guaranteed to shut all you people up

Don’t be silly. Peralta is a terrific pitcher;  he’s just forced into a #1 spot in the rotation when he’s more of a 2/3.

I’ve been saying this all year

I’m not a fan

Ok, but Mitchell is in the clean up spot and struck out, where’s the vitriol there and head shaking?

So let me get this straight, you are fine with Bauers hitting behind Adames?

Mitchell striking out there was garbage too.

Well first, working a full count and striking out on very good pitch is a far, far better AB than popping out the very first pitch to the catcher.

Secondly, Garrett Mitchell was a good hitter this year, has upside, and his presence in a run-producing spot in the lineup is understandable, unlike Jake Bauers, who has been a bad hitter not only this year but his entire career.

Ok. What does “upside” have to do with a Best of 3 play off series.

It’s not rocket science, and there’s no naked pictures of the manager’s wife involved. Bauers is in there so they can go R-L-R-L what Lefty would you rather have in there… Collins?

Eh, I dunno. He fouled it up and directly back. He had the pitch timed, was just a little under it.

It's baseball, it happens. Frustrating but hardly the dumbest thing ever.

I don’t know what this means.   So he gets his ass kicked in game two then?

Sometimes I think forum members simply want positive posts & compliments only - regardless of a player’s performance

I honestly hope Peralta gets traded - if he’s as good as some on this board suggest, he  should bring back a strong return

R-L-R-L. If you don’t like Bauers there, what’s your alternative keeping the alternating side batter intact?

The only thing that bothers me about Bauers' AB is that he swung at the first pitch after Adames saw 4 and swung at a pitch that was in on his hands. I get hitting is difficult but that AB was frustrating. I hope it doesn't become a theme.

You're right, it's not rocket science. A hitter like Bauers shouldn't be hitting in the 6 spot of a playoff game, plain and simple.

He's DH'ing, so literally any of Perkins, Sanchez, or Haase would have been better. You don't have to go R/L all the way down the lineup.

Can we all agree that the obsession with rlrl is the dumbest thing Murphy has done all year? If you hit rrrrr and score 8 you don't have to worry about some middle relief guy.

What rule says you have to go R-l,-R-L

I can’t believe people are defending putting an under .200 hitter in the starting lineup of a playoff game.  He’s the DH! Why keep the extra catcher if one isn’t going to DH?  I’d rather see Perkins DH, and I’m not a fan of his bat

Probably Murphy's biggest flaw with making out his lineup is is absolute zealotry about right left right left.

If he would have hit a first pitch grand slam you wouldn’t be saying that lol. Such hindsight
