I'm crushed. This one really hurts. It's going to take a while to come to terms.

And when I do, I'll start making arrangements to get to Phoenix for some spring baseball.

Murphy pushed all of the right buttons in this game even with a surprising Peralta appearance.  The 9th inning that is all on Devin.  He choked and that is on him you can't blame Murphy for that where every single manager would have brought in Devin in that situation.

Yup, every single manager, at every single level, in every single league in the entire world, would have done the same exact thing.

It's stupid to argue otherwise.

Yep.    He just blew.   He can go play for someone else next year.    Hopefully some dumb team will give us a bunch of good players.

Not if they watched this game. Lucky to get a bag of balls for him.

Eh, random baseball stuff, and besides, we are guaranteed another "bite at the apple" next year (or so I've been told).

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Good luck. I hope you won’t be disappointed next season.

I come away from this season, and even this tough loss, incredibly optimistic. We have some dawgs in that clubhouse. Adames will be gone. We'll surely miss his regular season bat BUT a new storyline emerges - that's entertainment for me. Williams will most likely be traded for a decent haul of prospect(s) or player(s). Another intriguing storyline. My Minor League season essentially never ends with Winter Leagues upcoming and Rule Five and MInor League Free Agency and then the International signing period. There's just too much Brewers baseball to care about (for me, personally) to hang my hat all on the Brewers needing to succeed in the post-season. This was an improbably entertaining and successful season. The future is very bright for that clubhouse. They have the right manager managing this group. We have some really nice chips at Double and Triple-A I will look for next steps with. The Brewers will keep doing their thing. I will keep dreaming big and be fully prepared to accept the results, regardless. Devastating loss tonight? No. Disappointing? Yes.

But, hey. We have Jackson f'ng Chourio for 10 more years. This was his rookie season. I'm going to let that sink in all off-season. We have a superstar in a small market. I'll consider this akin to Giannis' first post-season. Plenty of hope left in the tank.

Up 2-0 in the 9th with Devin coming in. That's the recipe for victory. It just didn't work out.

For whatever reason this one doesn't bother me that much.

Hader choked for the Astros so it's probably not just a Milwaukee thing.

Sure. To be transparent I've never forgiven him for breaking hand in '21.

Then rewatch the 9th inning

What should he have done differently in the 9th? He has to face 3 guys. The leadoff walk was terrible but then he got the next guy. Who should have come in to face Alonso?

I am beyond disappointed, and I've had my moments where I've been critical of Murphy, but this isn't it. There isn't a manager in baseball who would've done something other than bringing Devin in for the 9th, and there isn't a manager in baseball who would have had such a short leash with him to pull him after the minimum for Alonso.

Contreras Adamas Hoskins and Ortiz a combined four for 43 in the series

Contreras at least has an excuse with his injury, but talk about going out with a whimper between Williams and Adames.

I probably will be. But I love baseball and the Brewers. I could root for some front runner, but I'll stick with my team.

Went back and watched the top of the ninth after skipping it.

The walk to Lindor, no excuse. I also thought Devin should have gone fastball to Nimmo after getting up 0-2. Alonso's was kind of a wall-scraper, but a terribly located changeup just floating there.

Honestly? We played a pretty damn good baseball game. Didn't hit with RISP. Pitched great. Got the ball into our best guy's hands, and he was poor. What are you gonna do? Baseball is the best mirror of life I know. You fail a lot. You hope you don't, but you can't outrun it forever. Sometimes, the end is sudden, sometimes it's slow, but it shows up and you have to deal with it.

We will. Proud of this team and had more fun watching it than the last four or five editions. Here's to more team speed and more NL Central titles. We won the grind. The sprint is mostly just a lie (even though we want to believe it).

So does this mean the Mets are going to the World Series. You know whoever beats the Brewers in the playoffs goes. Should put some money down.

I’m not going to tell you how to fan but how in the **** can you not be devastated by puking up a 2-0 9th inning lead at home in a winner advances game?

What do you suggest Murphy do then, or are you just going to go with the hindsight argument?

Too bad this isn’t basketball. Still need more than one player. It’s never going to happen for the Brewers.

Yes and the the fractures this past offseason that messed him up until a month after the All Star break. He is a head case and should be traded.

As far as who wins now, I couldn't possibly care less. Won't watch another inning of MLB this year. On to football.

Same here. I'm curious to see how well Ohtani handles a playoff atmosphere, but otherwise I'm moving on to football.
