Here's the lasted Bohm rumor

https://www.si.com/fannation/mlb/fastball/news/chicago-white-sox-philladelphia-phillies-discussing-potential-garrett-crochet-alec-bohm-justin-crawford-trade-01jdhvdyfsd6

Bohm and #3 prospect Crawford for Crochet

Assuming it's legit my biggest take away is that Devin Williams is the right kind of guy to offer but his value is much less than Crochet. Crawford is a nice asset but overall a small piece of that deal I think. So Devin for Bohm might be tough because I don't know who we could add to even it out, as they are probably more interested in high end MLB talent and not prospects.

It's also very likely though that the Phillies are over valuing Bohm here, the White Sox aren't seriously considering it and the Phillies are going to have to re calibrate their value on Bohm.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Yea who knows, maybe there is something there.  But I don't see why CWS would want Bohm in their situation.  He has two years left then FA and they're awful.

Yeah Bohm to the White Sox makes no sense at all.  The only way this makes sense is if a third team would be involved and they were getting Bohm.  Crawford makes some sense but I think the White Sox would prefer prospects only for Crochet and something better than Crawford.

If this is all the Sox want for Crochet, let's go get him instead.

I think an offer of Black Boeve EBJ and wichowski could potentially get it done.

Seems similar to our Yelich trade…four for one with only one pitcher included.,

I could see the Brewers playing third wheel again and getting Bohm in the Phillies and White Sox trade.  Kind of like how we got Contreras.   Phillies get Crotchet.   Brewers get Bohm.  Sox get Crawford and Black and other smaller pieces.  Something along those lines.

Id probably rather get control if moving Black.  Devin is my only avenue I’d want Bohm.

That's not a good offer and would be blown out of the water by any number of teams.

Yep. Teams don't want 4 quarters (or less in this case) for a dollar

Could Devin and Mitchell or Frelick get us both Stott and Bohm as well as Crawford?

We’d have a nice five man rotation in the infield then (with Rhys, Brice, and Joey).   Also opens up a spot for Black to get some corner OF time as the 4th or 5th OF (assuming Yelich/One of Mitchell or Frelick and Chourio is our penciled in opening day outfield. )

I see a real need to get a second starting caliber infielder beyond just one guy that starts at 2b or 3B and getting both guys would solve that immensely.

Bohm hit .280 (779 OPS) and drove in 97 last year. I think Milwaukee would see him as a one year 3B with adequate defense. They should get better defensively at SS with Ortiz so it's a wash from last year.  Bohm fills a huge hole in the infield for now and he would be making less than Williams, so he fits into the Brewers' payroll well.

Been reported phillies don't like bohms attitude if that is true I couldn't see the brewers trading a dollar for him

He was the same kid who could be seen saying, "I ******* hate playing here," after getting mercilessly booed early in his career after booting a ball.

I'm not at all predicting this, but just playing armchair psychologist, but maybe he'd flourish at a lower-key, more supportive atmosphere than Philadelphia.

Of the four guys you mentioned only Black has ever made a Top 100 list coming in between #46 and #70 depending on the source, and he has backtracked since those rankings.

Of the four guys traded for Yelich Monte Harrison (#49 to #71) and Isan Diaz (#59 to #93) were in the same general range as Black plus there was also Lewis Brinson who was made eight different Too 100 lists between #12 and #18 before being dealt.

Those packages aren’t really similar at all.

What about Williams boeve and Koenig for stott and painter.   Or for the other half that prefer Bohm:

williams boeve and Koenig for Bohm and Painter?

Painter is at #8 (FanGraphs), #12 (BA), #27 (BPro) and #32 (MLB) on the Top 100 lists.

If the Phillies decided to deal him they’d get way better offers than Williams, Boeve and Koenig.

I would think Hoskins would be able to provide insight about Bohm’s attitude. Plus, the change of scenery and literally millions of dollars on the line for him depending on how he plays, there is reason to think he could do well in MKE.

I didn't even know about Hyeseong Kim! Thanks for alerting me.

One thing I was reading over the weekend, the Phillies are open to Bryce Harper moving back to OF...and he wants to move back out there again.   Maybe we make them happy - give them their beloved Hoskins back and we take Bohm off their hands.   The values don't match at all so I am sure other parts would need to happen to make this viable.

I don't hate that idea, but the Brewers would then need to replace a 100 wRC+, 26 HR performer whom most of us believe will improve on those numbers next season.

(Usually, we think of Bohm replacing Adames' bat)

The Phil's asked for Gilbert or Kirby for Bohm, which the M's declined. This pretty much causes me to give up hope that Williams will get this done.

Both are starters with 2 years of control. So basically the price for Bohm is peralta.

Cross Bohm of the list if that is the price, may it comes down later in the offseason.
