Is it really? Nearly a year and a half later?

His injury was the kind that can end careers. I was skeptical that he'd ever make it back.

So if Woody pitches Sunday, like 3-4 starts to build up and get in rhythm, We are looking at Mid April probably Not much more than 2-3 starts to start the year.

I wonder if they would they maybe just wait until it warms up a bit?

Was at the Trats game today, he didn’t pass the eyeball test.  Velocity was 90-92 consistently, think I saw 93 a couple times.  Struggled to locate and gave up a lot of hard contact.  Had bases loaded 2 of his 4 innings.  The lower velocity is probably a little concerning although it wasn’t very warm today.  The other teams starter was sitting 94-95 though.  Woody probably multiple minor league starts in front of him yet.

Yeah he topped out at 93 a few times. Wasn't great. His command was really off today.

Heard him interviewed on the pre-game yesterday. He isn't concerned. He said he really didn't pitch at all for 18 months and command is expected to be off given the layoff. Body feels good. Shoulder feels good. I like that he talks with certainty about the return of command and velocity.

“When you have any type of surgery, especially shoulder surgery, typically the last thing that comes for guys is the command of the baseball,” Woodruff said. “Out there today, I got to two strikes or even earlier in the count, I didn’t execute with two strikes.

“Then you get behind early and it doesn’t matter what level you’re at, especially right now until the velocity gets back, that’s what I’m going to have to be able to lock in on, the command.”

The way I look at it, this is the first time in 18 months that he's started, went through his routine, and then went out & started again. This will probably take longer than any of us would like & hopefully the end result will be worth it.

As long as he isn't absolutely horrible before then, I am totally fine with him not figuring it out until late August.

40% chance rain forecasted for game time, hopefully that doesn't mess with his start. I'm thinking about driving up from ~60 minutes south of NSH to attend.

Lots of pitches in the 1st inning, two hits on weak contact. Got through the 2nd in about 10 pitches, though.

50/50 chance it's a made up thing to buy time?

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

That would be worse, wouldn’t it? It would mean his shoulder is the problem

Kind of surprised the Brewers structured Woodruff's deal like they did.  The mutual option payment will likely be about 8% of the team's total payroll next year.
