That has to be Payamps’ last chance. Enough already with this guy.

He's been a good arm in the past. Be nice to send him down and let him get it figured out, but of course he's out of options.

Murphy used 6 relief pitchers in a game the team didn't even score until the 9th. That is incredible. The guy seems out of his depth as a game manager. Quintana gives your bullpen a break and he blows it up.

Would like to see Megill start the 9th inning

I don’t believe he would have given up five runs

Coming in after Payamps messed his pants again was not ideal

Hard to say. Megill looked like he really didn't have it tonight.

You can question the decision making (dominoes started with taking Patrick out a bit early for me) but Megill has to be able to get somebody out. It's mostly on him to me.

Yeah your closer needs to be able to come through in that situation. He couldn’t find the curveball and it became (relatively) easy for hitters to just sit on the fastball there. Lack of execution from a very good reliever deserves most of the blame

I imagine Payamps will discover an injury tomorrow.

I think they were clocking him only in the mid 80's tonight. Heck that is terrible.

Payamps now now with a meager 19.06 ERA on the season. Yoho needs to be up and Uribe needs to move to that 8th inning slot.

I agree 100% Yoho sounds good to me. This game should not have been lost tonight.

Going against Gallen tomorrow is going to be no walk in the park.

And Freddy had better be able to go seven because the bull pen is going to be a little thin tomorrow.

If Freddy doesn't have it tomorrow might be a 7 to 2 type of loss

This is a bold comment.

If you were sleeping like you said why are you replying like you watch it?  Payamps ERA over 19.00 now.

He flat out sucks.

Umm ... because I woke up afterwards.

Putting Payamps in to start the ninth was reckless with the way he’s been pitching this season.  They know how his pitches have been profiling.  Heat of the moment, horrible decision and surely Murphy (who I really like) would admit it.

Not worried about Megill.  They tried to get him work last night and so he was on a back to back plus he didn’t start the inning.  Double whammy.  When he threw the 5 straight balls, it was apparent he didn’t have it.

With Yoho they are apparently trying to save a year of service time.  I think he could pitch in leverage situations right now.

Payamps.  They have a couple of years of trust there.  But he should be in when we are behind or in a blowout to get on track.  Then DFA if he’s showing he’s not a major leaguer anymore (a distinct possibility).

Reminds me of a game 10 years ago or so….Brewers up 5-0 in 9th in Arizona…and give up like 7 or 8 straight hits without getting an out and lost.

seems like this should be a playoff game.

I was at that game, too.

from our seats down the RF line, it looked like our two-pitch pitcher couldn’t locate one of them and the DBacks were just sitting on the other.

didnt help that we had to listen to these two loudmouths behind us the whole game.  At least security told them to tone down the profanity after an inning.  But, ugh, what a terrible loss.

But it’s just one of many.  Gotta hope that it doesn’t roll them into a losing skid.

Oh, and Chourio’s home run was a bomb!  Wow!
