If you think the Brewers have been a wet fart this year, get a load of the Red Sox.

$211M payroll, Big Trade for Garrett Crochet, Big Free Agent Alex Bregman, three Top Ten prospects (Campbell, Mayer, Anthony), lotsa preseason hype to be the AL rep in the World Series…currently sitting at 27 W - 28 L.

If the Red Sox are a wet fart...are the Brewers that uncomfortable pre-wet fart sensation? Like that discomfort before the relief? OR are they what's left after the deed is done? You know, the uncertainty?

Can't quite put my finger on it.

............And in the same division as NYY. If there was such a thing as Redsoxfanatic.com they would've called for DFAs quite a while ago.

I didn't see Saturdays' game & only saw a little over half of Yesterdays, but checking the boxes & highlights it looks like whatever corner Durbin & Ortiz are capable of turning, they might be heading around the bend. The bottom of the order getting on base for the top has often been a recipe for good offensive runs in the past. We can always hope.

I won't spend much effort on defending Pat Murphy. His getting Ashby up Friday & then not using him was ugly. But I'll maintain he wouldn't look nearly as clueless if this rotation would give him 6 innings a little more often (and yes, he needs to trust some of these guys more often when they're at 70-80 pitches instead of bringing the hook. That's part of it). And I don't think being w/o Mitchell & Perkins at the same time can be stressed enough. Just one of them available & you're probably not knocking on the door, but you're most likely over .500 & you don't get so many people wanting to jump off a bridge.

Brewers take us seriously. We are trying to win each and every game. Today Brewers send down history making rookie Logan Henderson. Facepalm.

There is no proof that Murphy is a quality big league manager. Last year was a bit of a honeymoon but all in all he did his job but Same results come playoffs. This season he was dealt a rough hand by the front office but he only has cost them 4-5 wins with brutal decision making. In sum Murphy hasn't been good and completely out of depth with pitching staff. Imo find a young manager a young team can grow with. A 67 year old guy is not ideal.

I haven't been impressed with Murphy but no way has he cost the team 4-5 wins this season. It's basically impossible for a manager to have that large of an impact in 50 games.

Maybe a bit aggressive but close. He has not been good by any stretch and hurt way more than he's helped. His insane use of the pen will hurt the pitching staff in the second half for sure

Patrick not looking good at all.  Everything is all over the plate.  Looking to be a very short start for Patrick.

What we haven't seen yet this season that has been employed over the past several seasons is an occasional 6-man rotation to give starters a little more rest.

I've been wondering if the relatively early hooks have been on purpose as an alternative to the 6-man rotation to minimize stress on the starters while balancing the need for an additional arm in the bullpen, given that the starting staff doesn't have the horses they've had in the past (such as Burnes, a healthy Woodruff, etc.).
