Other than Contreras this offense is silent today.

Vaughn had a hit with William.

Few games in a row Freddy looks off.  With the Cortes issue coming soon maybe a quick two week break for Peralta for dead arm to just get a rest wouldn't be a bad idea.  Get re-charged for the stretch

Yep. I think the pitching stuff will work ittself out. Never can have too much pitching. Put Freddy on a brief IL stint with "dead arm" and put in Cortes for a couple of starts, then go from there.

And that is not even getting into the Brewers possibly losing Peralta, Cortes, Quintana, and Woodruff this winter.

You know the first two wins of this series were demoralizing for the Cubs because they weren't competitive  games..

But this one is actually going to send them into panic mode when we come back. This one will hurt the worst.

I agree with all points made about Montesario but if he can't give Turang a day off against a lefty or Ortiz against anybody we need to rethink our needs at the deadline. I haven't heard anyone really bring this up of late but seems like a huge hole.

Two bloops and a blast here, Sal.

I was about to give you a virtual high five.

Looking at schedules, and the Cubs is pretty tough the next couple weeks? O's (smoking hot offensively right now), Reds, Cards, Blue Jays. Then the Pirates and the 5-gamer with us.

I thought Sal got that off the bat.

Glad I’m busy working … looks like today is not our day

I’m quite miserable just checking in on the score

I would be super aggravated if I was watching live

Not to beat a dead horse - but what a disappointing outing by Freddy

Weird:

The Athletic’s Dan Hayes said Willi Castro’s removal from Wedesday’s game was not because a trade was done.
Apparently, the Twins were just trying to get Castro an ovation coming off the field when they pulled him in the ninth. Castro remains extremely likely to be traded prior to Thursday’s deadline.

Freddy needs a reboot somehow maybe skip a start?
