This is a really minor thing, but it’s a laugher, so what the hey - Jansen seems to be not quite as skilled a framer as either Contreras or Haase. Perhaps it’s a product of being unfamiliar with the staff, or perhaps he just has different mechanics. Either way, there were a few borderline pitches tonight that got called balls that Contreras gets for strikes more often.

From here on out after the deadline some of these teams who sold are going to be Hella bad. The schedule will determine who wins it. Imagine playing the Twins.

This is an issue for him unfortunately

Among catchers with at least 1000 called pitches Jansen's -8 framing runs rank 45 out of 46. Only Will Smith (-9 FRV) is below him.

His strike rate of 38.2% is 44th (Riley Adams and Edgar Quero are tied with 36.6%)

SIR!

Put your fire extinguisher away, please.

This is a prescribed burn.

Lol. And after that scoreless inning (lowering McGee's ERA to 3.60), Koenig now has the Crew's worst ERA at 3.68... amazing.

Jansen needs one more hit.

Not sure I've ever seen a brewer game where every starter had at least two hits.

It is obviously really unlikely to happen now, but I found something that listed every time up to 2011 that every starter in a lineup got two hits. The Brewers hadn’t done it up to that point, but the White Sox did manage the feat against the Brewers quartet of Ricky Bones, Mike Potts, Kevin Wickander and Marshall Boze in 1996.

Vaughn being 27 is interesting. I thought he was a bit older. Maybe he can stick around awhile.

He needs to do like I did many years ago and just shave it off. That hair makes him look a lot older than he really is.

Took Cleveland extra innings to beat them tonight.

Brewers coaching has a history of fixing catchers, so I won't worry yet.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.
