Brewers at Reds: Sunday, August 17 @ 12:40 p.m.: Jose Quintana (3.44 ERA, 4.73 FIP) vs. Andrew Abbott (2.41 ERA, 3.66 FIP)

Really could use a deep start from Quintana.  I’m guessing it’s him, Anderson, and Myers to cover today’s game.  Pretty much everyone else needs a day off heading into tomorrow’s double header.  Tomorrow will be the day that not having Hall’s length could hurt.

Does anyone know when Chourio is expected to come back?

Late August at best.

I’m hoping all is well with the Perkins and Collins families - these life events > anything baseball, so (I’m guessing) it’s time well spent for the players. Everyone has things going on that distract them, but some things are harder to compartmentalize. Get right fellas.

But, we could use you if you’re up to it.

I  expected Frelick to be out today after he aggravated something in the ninth inning last night. Maybe he’ll be available to pinch hit today but at least be full go tomorrow

Getting Perkins back helps. It’s hard to have confidence in a hitter who shows bunt every time he bats.

Lineup isn't too bad.

It’s the exact lineup, not necessarily batting order, that I expected except that I didn’t know Perkins would be back.

I expected Myers to get the 2nd game tomorrow but maybe you’re right.

I'm guessing Patrick is 27th man and gets it.

This is truly amazing……..I know we put pressure on the opponent but this much of a gap seems incredible

How does that play with how many errors have been committed by an opponent.  In other words, are teams committing more errors when playing the Brewers or are the Brewers just capitalizing more.

Yeah, I heard the league leading 89 runs mentioned last night. But with no context I wasn’t sure how unusual that is.

On a different note because we have entered the realm of the completely over the top. I'll call the Quintana complete game no-hitter today right now.

On 85 pitches 😏

I'm pretty sure this winning streak is entirely thanks to me. Ten days ago, I headed to my cabin in northern WI, where I cannot watch Brewers games because Fan Duel will not sell me the streaming package because I don't have a Wisconsin billing address.

But bad news: I'm heading home today.

Sure would be a shame if, you know, something happened and your car wouldn’t start. A real shame…

I’m sure it’s some of both. And certainly, to be fair, that big of a gap doesn’t happen without some luck and circumstance.

Having a lineup full of speed makes routine chances difficult - that itself leads to more errors

I'm sure teams commit more errors against the Brewers than most others - its a hidden metric that putting the ball in play can lead to more runs than striking out when trying to hit everything out of the park.

If anyone is wondering the Brewers have allowed 37 unearned runs.
