We must have starters that can go six or seven innings on occasion

We are wearing the bullpen arms out during this 19 games in 18 days stretch

No one seems to step up like Rea used to do

I was a little surprised they had Mis go 5 but I'm sure that's why.

I thought he pitched really well.

My bigger question is:

What the heck is the plan with this kid? I am here thinking he is a glorified opener, and there he is throwing a career high in pitches. I get that we need the innings, but I feel like we're at a point where everyone knows we need to protect the arm and keep this guy available for the playoffs. But we're also running him out there every fifth of sixth day for 80 pitches.

I would advocate a move to the pen at this point. We've got Tobias. We have Gasser coming back soon. Just make Miz the piggy-back guy for a 2-3 inning stretch. I think running him out there as a starter just tempts you to use him like a starter. Right now, there's more value in having him available for October while getting some regular work.

How wonderful it would be for Myers (one of my favorites) to finish this game & save the bullpen arms for the next few games

Not happening without the Brewers adding to the lead. I'd guess Tobias gets 2 at most 3 innings if the lead remains 3 (or gets smaller)

I was thinking the same.  I'd love to see it.  Plus if he goes 4, could that be working towards stretching him out to swap spots with Les Mis to limit his innings....? It's going to be really interesting to see how the Brewers mgmt decides to play it over the rest of the regular season.

It would be nice, but at this point, I fear it's wishful thinking.

It's possible that with the timing of the end of the season, he could get 10+ days off with a first round bye before throwing a pitch in a game.

Miz has a ton of upside in his arm, but it’s not at all wild of anyone to suggest he might serve the team best in a bullpen role right now, especially with a looming innings limit and it’s not even September.

Pretty sure both Woodruff and Burnes started out primarily in relief roles.

Sorry, don’t have any.

Priester (5.4), Woody (5.5), Peralta (5.5) and Quintana (5.6) all average five to six innings per start. Misio (4.4) is four to five.

Even with the shorter outings the Brewers are still 58 W - 26 L (.690 W%) when one of those five start the game.

Mona's been smoking the ball with some consistently since filling in for Joey.

Certainly on a heater right now.
