Respectfully can I ask why it bothers you so much? No other team in the Central has any possibility of catching the Brewers. Every Brewer win and Cubs loss subtracts from the magic number.

So, I get the perspective. Both results are currently equal contributors toward the Brewer clinching of the division. That’s why people care here.

Miz hype was nonsense.  He’s not good right now.    Is he any better than Patrick at this point.   Patrick might give us 6 innings at least

It’s a weird hill to die on.    Their games absolutely matter

we are playing under .500 baseball.    Cubs need to lose games for us.   That’s just a fact at this point.

Lol.  Yes. It is.  The Cubs are the closest team to the Brewers.  Their score matters.

Jesus, people.  It's baseball.  They're going to lose games.  Calm down.

Take your own advice.

Since the beginning of time, Baseball fans have cared what other teams are doing down the stretch.  Especially when the teams are the Cubs and Cardinals.

I'd hate to be Murphy trying to figure out his pen. Today the arson squad showed up. He really doesn't have any options. Uribe has to be the closer by default. I don't trust Mears to be anything but a mop-up guy. If it's the elbow, Miller is done for the year. Koenig hasn't been consistent enough to be confident in him late. It might have to be Ashby, but he too has been on again - off again. It would be huge if Yoho could contribute, but his track record is awful. It's a horrible predicament to be in this late in the year.

Some people can deal with the reality, others go into emotional protectionism mode.

Well.   An off day finally.   We will see how this team reacts.    And the manager.   He needs to pull his head out of his ass with blowing out all the pitchers.     Miz out of the rotation and make him a long reliever to cover innings.   We need that now.  If he can’t win this game where we score 8 runs he’s useless as a starter.

I say again....

I don’t see how you can’t be concerned about the current state of the pitching staff, even with one more arm added.

4-5 innings from starters and the formerly reliable relievers are either injured or fading from overuse. The main competitors in the division added multiple arms at the deadline and that extra depth is going to pay off for them.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

If we get swept by the Phillies, then we sweep the Pirates.

It's even steven for Pennsylvania, and every game the Cubs lose lowers the magic number.

So here stress for no reason.

yup. unless the offense gets insanely hot again, this team isn't doing anything in October.  which sucks and is weird considering how elite the pitching has been at points this year

They'll get insanely hot again, (just won't be this year).

Chourio, Yelly, Bauers combined for zero hits.

Yaughn's magic has also wore off as this group went 0-10

The Brewers are 2-2 against two of the best teams in MLB over their last 4 games m, which have come at the end of a brutal stretch of their schedule.  They still find themselves 5.5 games up, with two games left against the Phils before their schedule starts looking a heckuva lot lighter.

These games happen - it stinks, but its ️

we had a lot of very average pitchers playing well this summer. no dawgs. just mentally weak guys with some physical talent

No better way to put a spotlight on your own mental softness than by pointing that finger at others.  This is just a pathetic take.

Not even close.  Ashby is likely to finish 5th in IP and only because of the McGill injury. Uribe is a guy who is likely to feel some effects.

You understand Ashby hasn't been healthy the whole year right?  That's 51.1 innings in a little over three months!
