It would be an interesting exercise to take time and go through the rosters of the NFC North how many players on the Packers outside of Parsons would even be the best player at their position in the division? McKinney, maybe?  Tom?

Very interesting exercise. No time for stats so gut calls only for now:

- QB: I think I’ve seen enough that I’d take Love over Goff (we’ve seen his best, and Love’s highs are way higher and room to grow still) and Williams (he’s a storm trooper with his arm, and the scramble around thing will evaporate sooner or later) right now, and obviously way over McCarthy (lol).

- OT probably Tom, but idk. Tom struggled at times last year, and I’d have to compare numbers since line play slips under the radar a lot unless you’re a huge liability.

- MLB Cooper would have been a slam dunk here after last year, but he’s less impactful this year for some reason. I suspect the Parsons addition has changed how he’s being used (less pass rushing) and that has limited his splash plays. I anticipate more juice from him down the stretch here.

- S I definitely take McKinney and maybe Williams, too. Love what the Packers get from both of them (though my goodness, can X even still catch anymore? C’mon man)

And…that’s it. Those are the contenders for all-division players. Once again, having QB1 locked down goes a long way, but it does seem to me that much of the rest of the roster isn’t keeping up, perhaps.

Oh boy. Every team has Super Bowl odds. They’re not a predictor of reality, it’s to set betting expectations so the house makes money either way.

There is no way to back door your way to the Super Bowl. 5 of the Packers 9 wins have come against doormat teams who have less than 20 wins combined. They are 1-3 this year against non-losing teams outside the NFC North (Which may suggest their division isn’t too good this year either).

More importantly, they might not make the playoffs and Parsons hasn’t missed a game yet! Super Bowl Contender. Sheesh.

They might not make the playoffs??? They currently have a 94% chance of making the playoffs and have a magic number of 2 over the Lions LOL.

We’ll see how it shakes out. You’re right they have got a pretty good grip on the final conference playoff spot right now; but haven’t earned anything. If they lose to Chicago and Baltimore (they do struggle against mobile QBs) they would then need help to get in.

They could easily lose all 3 that are left.

I think they will win at least one but doubt it will  be more.

Tucker Kraft at TE?

Jacobs at RB is at least in the discussion.  Last year was better than this year, though.

Walker vs Cooper - I'd take Walker this year.  But I don't watch enough MLB to know the competition.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Yeah, I was playing the game as if season injured players don’t count (since Micah was excluded). Otherwise I’d take Kraft over the other divisional TEs at the moment.

TE might be close between Tucker and LaPorta. Same amount of games played in their career, LaPorta has been a bigger weapon for Detroit with more yards and touchdowns, Kraft has a better yards per catch.

The best RB in the division is Gibbs and it isn’t close. If we’re being honest and not homers Swift is probably second best, then Jacobs.

No Packers receiver would probably be more than a #3 on the other North division teams. St. Brown, Williams, Jefferson, Addison, DJ Moore, Odunze/Reed/Doubs?.

Depending on the criteria, Goff beats Love in all the statistical categories now. Evaluating on moxie and play making ability? That might be Caleb Williams. Greatest future potential? Also, likely Williams.

Having the highest amount of best players at various positions is in no way some determining factor of having the best team. This is not baseball.

The very structure of NFL teams is such that usually some other team has more of the best players at various positions because the best team is paying the best couple guys at the most important ones a boat load of money.

You don't have to have the best safety, corner and OG when you have Mahomes. You'll beat the team that has that most of the time.

Most of the Rodgers teams absolutely didn't have the best players at most of the positions. It's some random attempt at making the Packers seem untalented that just is not their problem.

Ironically ARod might have one of his most talented squads he's ever played on right now with Pittsburgh.

Also ironically, now that the Steelers have finished this thing off in weird, wild fashion, we'll be one victory over the Ravens of clinching a playoff berth for both us and Rodgers whether people like it or not.

So essentially if we beat Baltimore the last game means nothing against the Vikings.

No because the Bears will lose to the Niners next week.

Any top 10 coach list that includes Pete Carroll in 2025 had about 30 seconds of thought put into it.

Yeah that one got me to raise an eyebrow.

Most of the rest of the list I agree with and I think Ben Johnson needs to be on it as well even though it's very early for him.

https://www.sportsinfosolutions.com/2025/12/03/which-nfl-teams-have-been-most-and-least-affected-by-injuries-in-2025/

This is through week 15.

Let's stop acting like we are the only team that has to deal with injuries.

If you’ve followed along with the 2025 NFL season, you might know what team I’m about to focus on here. If the conversation is about the cumulative effect of injuries on a team this year, that starts with the 49ers.

They already knew they were going to be missing Brandon Aiyuk for much of the season, and from that point have also sustained injuries to Nick Bosa, George Kittle, Fred Warner, Ben Bartch, Brock Purdy, and Ricky Pearsall, among others.

However, the subsequent return of many of these players has caused them to be surpassed in the injury accumulation department.

I don't think anyone debates that other teams have more/worse injuries.  I highlighted the above line that is key in this discussion.

We have been generally healthy most of this season (a few issues early that we worked through), but it is this late rash of IR and medium-term injuries that becomes very painful right before the playoffs.

  • Wyatt and Parsons put a huge dent in our pass rush and DL depth (hurts the run D also).
  • Kraft and Fitzpatrick make our TE depth a huge risk.  Assuming Whyle comes back, we still have lost our best blocking TEs and potentially our best overall receiver (Kraft).
  • Jenkins play was questionable before bowing out, but that still puts a worse player out there at C or G.  Losing Tom (medium term) is losing our best OL, which makes shaky protection worse.
  • Jacobs has clearly not been himself for a while, but since he isn't on IR, that won't impact the numbers you showed.
  • Williams (medium term outage) has been playing our best safety all year.
  • Thankfully, Watson recovered.  I would've put money down last week that he broke his collar bone after exiting the game.

The problem isn't so much the number of injuries, but the fact that we are getting hit with injuries to KEY players and coming at a time when they will impact the playoffs.

Would you rather be the 49ers that are getting healthy or the Packers that are dropping like flies the last few weeks?

Well, the 49ers still got the record they have this year in spite of all those things along the way. There were no excuses and they still got to 10-4. So who is going to hear our excuses?

And we still have a chance to get healthy as well. The injuries you listed aren’t long-term, besides Parsons and Wyatt and obviously Kraft, which was some time ago.

If they win on Saturday, they can and probably should treat Week 18 as a preseason game which would give their starters 2 weeks of rest before the playoffs.
