Oops, I didn't realize Jobs died in 2011 of a pancreatic tumor.  Its CEO Steve Cook I dislike now and the Cubs.

You didn't know Steve Jobs was dead? You did hear the unfortunate news about Henry Ford, right?

Sorry, couldn't resist. Just having a little fun.

Why on earth can't Monasterio be the dh? Why does the designated hitter be someone who can not hit? Makes no sense.

I am sure they want the defensive flexibility of Mona on the bench. If they needed his glove, and moved him to defense after he started at DH, then the pitcher has to hit, and nobody wants that. So Bauers it is.

The real problem is that it’s Bauers and not Hoskins.

I just looked and Apple doesn't release numbers but its estimated they have over 40 mil subscribers. It was estimated around 25 in 2022.  So yea they're doing very well and they do really well at awards time too.

that said, I can't imagine MLB drove out new subscribers all that much so I'd generally agree. Granted, I did it last game. Its $10, and you get a whole month so the game plus a month of binging their shows for $10 isn't bad at all. Especially when a burger at mcdonalds is like $13 now.      But the nfl on the other hand when Amazon did it for the first time a few years ago it worked just how they wanted, a record spike in subscriptions because of it. usa is just nuts about the nfl, as someone who's blah on nfl it still blows my mind.

The NFL is the most popular thing in America. It's crazy how Teflon that league is. They can get caught up in scandal after scandal, hand out painkillers like they're candy, deny CTE, and generally just do whatever they want, and they'll run the world.

Come to think of it, Jake Bauers is the NFL of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Yeah...but Bauers is a LEFTY!!! (Blue)

Maybe if I tag on the guy in another post, he'll finally swing the bat.

I’m done with Bauers. I don’t get why they love the guy so much. He can’t even touch the Mendoza line and we have Hoskins just sitting in the minors.

Yeah, MLBtv. A couple games on AppleTV every year is one thing. I live in Phoenix and MLB has decided that those 6 games against the Dbacks don't count despite me paying for the privilege. Grrr.

with complaint after complaint after complaint about Jake Bauers, I'd love nothing more than to see him go yard tonight.

Same; but, I would have no problem with the Brewers sending him packing and bringing up Hoskins. I don't really care that much about lefty/righty splits when the lefty of that split rarely hits.

Milwaukee is in a bad way right now

From a w-l record standpoint, then so is the rest of the league.  Cubs are also 5-5 in their last 10 even with today's win, btw.

but I do get the concern of all these nagging (and in some cases significant) injuries keeping guys out of the lineup/unavailable in the pen, too.  September callups have been a wet fart in the wind for this team because it's mainly been injury replacements.

Yelich needs to be able to get back in the lineup - this is already the 3rd game they'll be playing shorthanded with him not on IL but not able to hit off the bench, and it's leading to guys like Chourio not getting a day when he might have needed it ramping back up.

Like it or not the Brewers keep Bauers because he provides things Hoskins and Vaughn don’t. Besides being a left handed bat he has more speed and is a better defender. Hoskins and Vaughn are redundant players who they would likely never play at the same time except possibly if Yelich goes on the IL and opens up the DH spot

This is me right now seeing the Cubs coming up fast in my rear-view mirror & knowing the disastrous history the Brewers have had with the Pirates in other big spots during the team's N.L. history.

Question would you prefer a left handed bat hitting 175 or a right handed bat hitting 225? I think sometimes we forget results matter. Who cares if a guy hits lefty or righty? I'm just asking because it's almost a given like with Siegler well he's a lefty bat. Who cares he's terrible. Brewers have to do away with this thinking. I don't care if a guy hits with his feet. Just hit

We all would.

It wouldn’t change the fact that he’s been a career below replacement level player for his entire career and continues to be that way as a Brewer.
