Since coming back off of the IL, Bauers has a .969 OPS and a 1.204 OPS over the last 6 games.

Ride the hot hand.

Hoskins has to be thinking what am I even doing here.

Clearly that is not Murphy policy or we would have seen Monasterio after Ortiz came back. Instead he got buried again.

I'm sure it's because Mikolas is a RHP and Murphy is stuck in his ways.

Two off days in a week.  What is Contreras doing with all his new found free time?

Also I accidentally clicked the GIF button and this popped up.  Since it's all too familiar I am sharing:

Yes, it was sarcasm. I was more than anything making fun of myself though because that is exactly what I did, woke up around 1:30, asked Alexa what the score was, got out of bed in shock, checked the box score and read the rest of the game thread.

Probably a top five ugliest win in team history. It looked like the Cardinals lost it more so than the Brewers winning it. This is the scoring summary for the Brewers:

Sac fly, sac fly, sac fly, ground out, double and infield single that were preceded by back to back hit by pitches, infield single, double, single.

Whatever works though.

Definitely ugly for the first 6 innings or so. But AFA the comeback is concerned, I think a lot of teams that come back from 5-6 run deficits have walks, errors & stuff like that mixed in. Giving up too many walks was one of my bugaboos during the recent stretch where the team was a couple under .500.

It's no coincidence guys like Collins & Durbin are often mixed in to these comebacks. Great plate discipline from both. I think with Collins in particular it's gotten him good pitches to hit.

Do those of us who got the sarcasm get a prize?😁

Not sure he will be on the playoff roster

Milwaukee may have kept him on the September roster so that he wasn’t picked up by a contender

He’s definitely end of the bench for us now

Churio should have caught that fly ball. He gave away two more runs with terrible OF play. I know Murphy has no choice because of Perkin's terrible bat. Quintana isn't doing himself any favors either. He didn't even look at the runners on and allowed a double steal w/o a throw because they had such huge jumps.

Bauers is the best defensive 1B on the team. Monasteries is not the best defensive SS

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Welp, after six innings of last night's abysmal performance when it was clear we weren't going to win I turned off the game, watched a movie and went to bed. Just gotta put that one behind us and get series win today.

I can laugh, but that was me last night!

So. You're telling me we are playing Jake Bauers veteran journeyman over the 3rd overall pick who saved our season and the second highest paid player on the team because he's our best defensive 1st baseman despite the fact you kicked him off the roster last season and nobody wanted him? OK I guess.
