COPE MUCH?!?!?  🥰

Who said that?

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

No, I actually do despise them. The fans anyway. Hopefully we can put them out of their misery down in Chicago so they don't migrate up here again to get ejected and or arrested for assaulting 10 year olds.

I have had personal experience with the weauxf gods, so I'll keep my gloating to myself for the moment. But I will say I have enjoyed glancing at the cubs message board too.

I think we would prefer the wind to be blowing in, though maybe a little less important with a ground ball pitcher on the mound.

Hopefully the wind will be blowing in. That would be a big advantage for us.

After the euphoria of winning yesterday.  Here’s my thoughts on the “opener”

I don’t know if it’s worth the risk in game 2.  I was pissed when Vaughn hit the homer because I just don’t believe we would be in a 3 run hole if Quinn was pitching

but after thinking about it I don’t think Murphy felt comfortable with the younger guys pitching in away game

luckily the hitters stepped up and now the brewers have Priester and Peralta going game 3-4

bit this better not go 5 games.   I don’t see trying to do this again in game 5 is going to come out with the same outcome.   Would you rather of had two Priester starts or two bullpen games

but nothing matters if Quinn gets the win tomorrow.   Then it worked out

The benefit of being up 2-0 is as follows:

Taillon starts for the Cubs, but CC will not mess around. If the Brewers just do what they do (make him throw pitches, get runners on base, etc.), you can force an early pitching change EVEN IF we have 0 runs. We're entering the only back-to-back of the series, so you can give Preister a little leash and hopefully make the Cubs use a lot of their pen.

That depends on Priester being good (doesn't have to be great--5 innings, 2 runs would be good, as would 6 and 3). It also depends on pressure. Baserunners. Pitches seen. Woodpeckers all the way.

Any one game can swing these series. Stay focused, but play loose. We've excelled at both of those things so far, and let's just keep doing that.

Of course not.  But that’s beside the point.   The opener didn’t work at that point.   I thought it was “wishcasting” managing.     But it’s all moot if Quinn wins the game tomorrow

Ok, I just needed a little clarification ha. I also didn't love the opener and would have thrown Priester at home... but I yelled pretty loud when Vaughn hit his out and I was confused by what you meant.

Had you told me during spring training that in October we were going to have a game against Jameson Taillon to advance to the NLCS (not even mentioning being up 2-0) ... I would have probably gotten super nostalgic and sentimental thinking about Uecker.

Yes, I am aura farming for the club right now. I don't care. We are celebrating on their field tomorrow and I'm going to post every Uecker quote I know when it happens.

Someone made the point in the other thread that in hindsight, if you're going to do a bullpen game, it's a better idea to do it when there's an off day the next day. Everyone except probably Miz is available tomorrow (iffy on Ashby, but he could easily come in to close out an inning)

But what if I told you in spring training that advancing to the next round was predicated on Quinn Priester?

Hey Brewers fans! Congrats on these first 2 big wins! We're a sports bar located in Chicago down the street from Wrigley Field and we are the only bar in the neighborhood whose mission is to be a welcoming place for visiting fans! For anyone making the trip from Wisconsin tomorrow, think of us as Brewers HQ in the heart of Wrigley, so come on by and say hi during our pre and post game festivities and show Wrigleyville how the Brewers get down!!

I don't even really consider yesterday a bullpen game anyway.  If Miz started the game and pitched 3 innings, what difference does it make?  We don't have the type of starters that can go more than 4-5 innings, but that's not a bad thing.  Your bullpen can essentially pitch every game with the days off and you want the Brewers bullpen out there every game, they are awesome!  I feel even better about everything now that Patrick looked phenomenal yesterday as a reliever as that really helps the 4-6th inning range of the game.
