I would have preferred to hit for Blake and throw Bauers in LF. But I’m guessing Chourio can’t play anywhere else and they were out of OF.

Bauers can play right. You shift Sal to center.

Disappointing loss. 8th inning was huge. Turang has done nothing to justify hitting 3. The constant lineup shuffle is ridiculous. It's not hard given the pieces to write certain names in certain spots. Yount hit 2 for 13 straight years. Just put guys in spots and leave them only manager.

Obviously gotta give him credit for Bauers, but other than that, there was no need after the first 2 games for the big lineup shakeup with Yelich leading off, Turang batting 3rd, etc. You had a working formula from the first two games and completely went in a different direction and scored 3 runs.

Lockridge has like a .550 lifetime OPS. It just didn’t make any sense 3 hours ago to get him a start and doesn’t make any more sense now.

Cubs had ONE good inning vs the Brewers.

Priester was due a loss and... they couldn't get anything else going vs the Brewers pitching... and we blew this one.

That's it. We're going to be fine. No fatalistic BS now. We're still up 2-1 and this series isn't gonna make it back to Milwaukee.

I'm just hoping the Phillies can take a couple games so Philly comes to Milwaukee on October 13th!!!!

Counterpoint- we are Brewer fans, and Wisconsin sports fans

I just simply cannot feel optimistic about this. I don't know how anyone can. This team has absolutely ripped our heart out for the last 8 years.

Yep. Lotta playoff scar tissue.

I am expecting the reverse sweep because it would be a new way to crush my spirit in October.

Nah. We got it tomorrow. Freddy will give us 5 or 6. And then we have Uribe and Megill fresh.

I assume they go Boyd but wind projected to be blowing out makes it a tougher choice. Could go Rea and Bullpen I suppose.

We also really didn't "waste" the BP.

We threw Quintana, Koenig threw a bit, Patrick and Anderson. Didn't use Ashby, Uribe, Megill. We're good to go.

I mean if you want to do the rookie in a  pressure situation thing, this was the game you do throw Priester. You have two more chances so he gets the lowest leverage start.

Maybe, but this is October. You can't take anything for granted. I've seen too much Brewer baseball in my life to do that. I'd like to see them win a World Series before I die and if they don't do it within the next five years, they most likely won't.

I don’t think they want him there either with his knee, but you’re right that’s probably the best option

Until we get over the hump this is how I feel.  I fully expect to lose at home with the Cubs celebrating.   They have a legit shot at a WS and I can’t help but feel they’re going to piss it away.  I’m not a Bucks fan so I couldn’t really enjoy that Championship.  I’ve got two Packers Super Bowls which is awesome but for the amount of times a WI sports team has been in position to win they typically find a way to absolutely shatter my heart.  This feels like it will follow script.

We have cornered the market on finding the most painful way to lose at the worst possible time.

Sal is our right fielder.

o rly thanks for the insight

He can play CF in that situation, if you manage to tie it. Letting Perk hit 2x vs RHP is malpractice. He's awful in the LHB box and should honestly abandon hitting LH entirely. Murph did them a massive favor letting him hit.

He's played plenty of CF and he's a good enough fielder that... it really doesn't make sense to me that we're SO resistant to play him out there.

Though.. Collins had a TERRIBLE at bat as well. That gets forgotten, but got up 3-0, two strikes, then swing at a ball in the dirt... I believe that was the inning that we had 1st and 3rd and 1 out.

Except that Sal is our right fielder.

Yeah, I hate to feel this way… but it’s hard not to feel like “see it to believe it” at this point.

There was no reason in Game 3 against the Mets last year entering the 9th inning to think that Bob Uecker’s last memory of the team would be a catastrophic blown save by one of the best closers in baseball… yet, I can’t say it was utterly surprising.

Since his kids birth Collins has been our worst hitter... By a mile.

For well over a month.

He's an excellent right fielder with a cannon that keeps runners from getting to third. More important, I don't see how it makes sense to start changing things up in a the middle of a playoff series.

I know we all have October PTSD being Brewers fans. At least they gave themselves 3 shots to get this done. If they can’t do that then they have no one to blame but themselves.

Time for Freddy to step up and pitch like the leader of this team so the series doesn’t go past tomorrow.

When you need a run, you don't let a man with a 64 wRC+ vs RHP hit. It's that simple. Worry about the defensive alignment if you get the run. You simply cannot hit Perkins there and you did it TWICE.

I recall a post you had when the Brewers were waiting to find out their opponent that you were amped to face the Cubs...knock them out on a redemption playoff run through LAD and whomever in the WS....I'm still firmly with you from about 5-6 days ago, enjoying this ride and confident as ever.  Stick to your guns, brother!

This kind of reminds me of 2019 when the Bucks were rolling in the ECF, up 2-0. The Raptors took everything they could to barely win Game 3 in overtime.

The prevailing thought was “it’s fine. They don’t have enough left. It took everything just to get one win.”

Only that’s not how sports work, and we didn’t win another game. Momentum is a real thing. Boyd could easily shut us down tomorrow, Peralta could have command problems and we could lose 8-1. It’s baseball.

Or, we could get that big hit tomorrow and finish this. I really don’t know. But the Cubs aren’t finished just because they had to scratch and claw for one tonight. We will have to earn win #3 all the way.
