Almost always, when we trade for prospects, most of us are left going, “who?” and doing a Google search.

This is not one of these trades. Fantastic get for a year of Freddy plus Myers.

I'd imagine Jett slots in as our 3rd best prospect and Sproat 8th or 9th in a very good system.  That's a lot of talent in return. Not crazy about giving up Tobias as well, but he was pretty low on our depth chart.

Sproat is a consensus Top 100 prospect. He will be much higher than 8 or 9.

We’re will Williams fall into this roster ?  We gave Turang at 2nd. Ortiz at SS. The outfield seems to be crowded right now. Does this guy have any power ?

He is listed 5'7 175lb and his name is Jett. I can't imagine he hits the ball far.

*edit* 17 HRs last year. I apologize.

The kind of trade we have to be making.  I'm pleased with the return.  Hook 'n Hendy will have to turn Sproat into another quality piece.  Full years of control on each is huge for one year of Peralta and the up-and-down Myers we saw last year.

Williams is 5'7", also fitting our theme of acquiring former high draft picks and short guys.

I'd assume Ortiz is on notice.

Jett can basically play anywhere in the infield and center so I imagine he starts in AAA and based on injuries/ineffectiveness he will be up.

I think this is underwhelming for Peralta. The Brewers needed to get a big bat to play OF or SS. Williams isn't anywhere close to that. He offers nothing that Milwaukee doesn't already have an abundance of: little guys with almost no power who can play multiple positions. Certainly nowhere near the bat that they needed. Sproat looks to be a middle to bottom of the rotation type pitcher. He can maybe get a spot in the rotation, but the trade does absolutely nothing for the Crew this year.

Fangraphs has his power as 50/55.  So lots of power for his size.

Williams hit 17 homers and plays shortstop.

Do people not realize he is ranked #30 as a prospect and had a good year last year?

His 17 HR last year would have been 2nd in the Brewers minor league system. He also had an ISO over .200 which would have been 7th in the Brewers system

Edit: Sorry 4th. I had a qualifier on so Wilken and Cameron weren't included.

Respectfully, if the Brewers were worried about what was best for the Brewers THIS year... we would not be trading Peralta.

How is 17 HR in 486 AB “almost no power?”

He is not rated top 100 on MLB.com so not sure consensus is correct.

They haven't done their 2026 updates yet but he's Top 100 on every other list so even if he isn't on Pipeline they would be the outlier in that regard.

I really wasn’t a big fan of trading Peralta…but this is definitely a trade you happily ship him off for. Not that he is bad, but I am shocked we actually got this kind of haul for him. Rentals just aren’t worth what they used to be.

Two MLB ready prospects with pretty good upside.

Like I really thought everyone here would be in love with this. It’s a versatile top 30 prospect with control, pop, speed, and can get on base. He can probably be either a super sub or be an immediate upgrade from Joey.  And a fringe top 100 pitcher.

I don’t get how anyone can possibly be disappointed. It’s Myers plus a year of Freddy. We were never going to re-sign him. What was anyone expecting? This is the literal highest of high expectation that I thought we could get.

I think the only trade that everyone liked was the Contreras trade. I think once people dig into the guys we are getting a little more, they will understand why we did the trade.

Plenty of people will have a personal connection with Peralta because of his story and tenure. We could have gotten back Skenes and De la Cruz in a 3 team deal for him and some would still be sad. Nature of connecting with a team and its guys over time I think. Trading Contreras will be the same regardless of return. In a few years same with Turang and Sal.

It's a trade the Brewers need to make in most years under the current financial system - that being said, I get the angst of dealing your Opening Day starter from the past few seasons and how it impacts the MLB club in 2026, which could be the last full regular season for a few years.

I think the return in terms of talent + years of control is fantastic for the trade - still stings though....even though Freddy is a roller coaster ride from one start to the next.  Hoping the younger starter depth steps up in this organization and minimizes the immediate MLB hole created by Peralta pitching in Gotham.
