I agree Megill should not be closing games anymore, but this bullpen overall is looking like a serious liability. It’s not like Uribe’s performances lately have a lot going for them, either.

If this continues, and Murphy keeps trotting him out there to close games, then any future Megill shenanigans are 100% on Murphy.

It doesn't help that Uribe hasn't looked that great either...

Megill's stuff has regressed to a point where he is not pitchable in leverage situations. Less drop on the curve and less velo on his already mediocre shaped FB. This wasn't new info. I blame Murphy 100% for being stubborn with roles for the sake of it.

Yeah, I mean I get the calls for Megill to be out as closer, he looks horrific.

but…. Uribe hasn’t been good. Zerpa hasn’t been good. So.. Grant Anderson? We need someone other than Ashby.

The entire bullpen needs to get better or it won’t matter much what Megill is doing.

Also, every bullpen move we make at the deadline is trash.  Norris, Curtiss, Rosenthal, Bush, Chafin.  Mears was terrible for us in 2024 but good in 2025.
