Ok, what did Abner do? I didn’t see it. Must be pretty bad if everyone is jumping on him in a game against the Cardinals.

Basically did the suck it to the cards dug out.

6-0 lead, struggled with command a bit, 3&2 barely strike 3 for third out. Turns directly to Cardinals bench and does elaborate dance that ends with the crotch V hand signal.

Also challenged a pitch which pitchers aren’t supposed to do and lost.

Man I enjoy beating the Cardinals. Not on the level of beating the Cubs currently, but I've hated the Cardinals since 1982, so it's still pretty sweet.

After LaRussa and his other marrie band of pricks I will always enjoy beating the Cardinals.

His regular thing he's done after getting the 3rd out in the 9th and he added some hip action in the general direction of the Cardinals dugout... and that was after some not so great reactions to ball and strike calls and a challenge from the Cardinals.  It wasn't great.  It also wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen.  It was dumb but....

The 2026 Cubs are starting to remind me of the Brewers Team Streak in 1987.  Won 13 to open the season, ran it to 20-3 and then lost 12 straight.  Fell all the way to below .500 by the all star break and then won like 45 of their last 65 games, won 91 games overall but missed the playoffs.

Not a coincidence that the Brewers good and bad streaks closely tracked when Molitor was in the lineup. He played in 118 games and scored 114 runs. The Brewers were 77-41 in those 118 games and were 14-30 in the ones he missed, mostly in May and June.

Normally I don’t love seeing what Abner did especially in a game that isn’t very testy.

That being said, I feel confident he was responding to someone in the Cardinals dugout talking junk. But even if not, if there is one team that holds a special place in baseball where someone should disrespect them - it is most definitely the Cardinals! So I don’t have nearly as much of a problem with it as I normally would.

He actually might be the best starter in brewer history.

What about Iron Mike Caldwell? 😁

That 1982 team had more characters than a Muppet movie.

No starter yet tomorrow?

Looks like a bullpen game. Probably Patrick, Hall, and Drohan will see action.

I agree it wasn’t the worst thing. But I’m pretty sure it was a Degeneration X era “suck it” motion yeah?

I think a Muppet Movie of the 1982 season would be fantastic.

I was curious about Uribe this year with Peralta gone.

Two years ago Uribe fights a guy, gets suspended, demoted, hurt and is done.

That next off-season there were so many reports and videos and photos of him all winter long down at Peralta's home working together.

Last year he blossomed remarkably.

Peralta is traded and there was 10% of me that thought "I wonder if Freddy had a pulse on him that will go unchecked this year?"

Thought it was probably silly. Still most likely do.

But.. ??

Seems like a loose cannon who needs a veteran mentor. That's the thing about young teams. Maybe short of vets to help him.
