What would have been the last season on Yelich's first contract had we not given him that extension?

Whatever happened to Carlos Rodriguez the hitter?  I always thought it was funny we had two different ones, one a pitcher and one a hitter, at the same time in our minor leagues.  They actually even played on the same roster.

He’s in the Padres organization at AAA after being with the Braves organization in 2025. He was a minor league free agent signing by both teams.

The commitment to keeping bad players on the roster this year is unmatched.

But, but, we have the fourth best record in baseball.

Let's go enjoy our Saturday night friends. Big paper advantage tomorrow to win the series.

Do we only have one new arm up from AAA for Rodriguez or do we bring up two and say farewell to Jake as well?

I'm going to keep telling myself he's on the Corbin Burnes track.

Then we’re well past the point where he should be getting sent to the pen. Burnes got 4 starts in 2019 before getting demoted, Sproat has gotten 9.

Maybe someday Sproat will turn into something, but so far, his performance this year has been uninspiring to say the least.

Yeah, time to send him down to AAA.  He just has not shown he has what it takes to be a MLB starter.

not sure what our record is when he starts, but I feel like it’s pretty close to an automatic loss

The gap between the Brewers best players and worst feels abnormally large this year. On both the pitching and position player side.

This team is built to win over the course of 162 however has no real chance at beating the Dodgers in the playoffs.  First or second round exit at best.  They’re in desperate need to cut dead weight and add some punch.

Turang needs a day off.

He does the problem is if you give him the day off 3/4 of your infield is Rengifo/Ortiz/Hamilton.  On another note, Gary Sanchez annoys the hell out of me.

Is levering really so dense that he doesn’t understand why that pitcher’s name is in a different style than the other players?

His last name is VanWey with a capital letter, but no space,  in the middle. So, the other letters in his name are in a lowercase to highlight the capital W in the middle. I suspect that that is what the player requested.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

With Henderson on the shelf, we’re basically winging a 2 man rotation and just hoping to get by with swingmen and bullpen games 60% of the time and just hoping to steal some of those. Not a very sustainable strategy.

Agreed.  We have made some outstanding trades.  But also some duds.

sproat, rengifo, and Perkins are just not MLB players.  If Ortiz is going to be our guy for defense, I’m good with that, but we don’t have room for him and Hamilton.

its time to pull the trigger on Lara, Pratt, and Williams, and we should be working the phones hard for a starting pitcher if Priester or Woodruff aren’t going to be available soon

That’s only going to get worse with no off days.  I’m not sure if the Brewers are planning on going to a straight five man rotation or if they’ll try to slip a bullpen day in to give the starters some extra rest.

Not if you jettison Rengifo and call up Williams 😁
