And I will take the Brewers being 57-33 over 33-57 every time.

But think of the draft position.

If they keep getting 10+ hits/game they will start scoring 6-7 runs/game sooner rather than later. Especially in a 5-game series where they are already busy wearing out the opponent's high leverage pitching.

Agreed. They are a balanced team. They are winning games when the fans are saying they are not playing well. I said last night, I just don’t think most fans watch baseball outside of the team they cheer for. I don’t know what more people want. Great pitching and a team that scores 5 runs per game which is top five in baseball.

Stop it - I am really pulling for a 58-33 record after game 2.

They've really got to use some of the "other guys" in the pen. Using Ashby/Uribe to get us over the finish line in that one was the right call, but we still have to cover 6 more games in the next 6 days. I'd try to save Megill and Patrick for tomorrow and no more Ashby and Uribe tonight, either. Gasser going 6 would be awesome, and rely on the other 5 arms, with I'd guess Yoho as closer.

White Sox are in 1st place and picking 1st. Pretty impressive

That's not easy to do. Not too often you can go from the basement to the top of the mountain that quickly.

It's easy for fans to be negative and extrapolate that eventually their "luck" will run out and they will start losing these close games.

That usually happens when a team is playing over their heads.

The scary thing (for our opponents) is that their winning pace is clearly sustainable.

Miz did the dang thing. Different ways that aces need to be aces for a team and on the back side of a huge stretch with no games off and on the front side of a double header.. we really needed him to eat up some innings for us and he did it. As long as Gasser doesn't trip out of the blocks, we're going to come through the day in good shape.

I would bet a nickel Lara is going to be in there for game two and I'm excited for it.

Yes.   Definitely the golden era.   Too bad dodgers gamed the system

If they were down 1 or even tied I think they would have gone with the low leverage arms.

When you're sitting at a 75% win probability in the 7th inning, the book says to play for the win and worry about tomorrow later.

On the flip side, our opponent burned two high leverage arms and has nothing to show for it.

Is it you that doesn’t want to trade prospects at the deadline? I totally agree with that. The talent the Dodgers have is insane. I think the Crews “real” window is the next 2-6 years.

Boy, it always pains me when our lil Scrappers exhibit the resounding Power of Friendship and take down the Classiest Org in MLB in their Ballpark. These two one run dubs were for Tony LaRussa and the integrity of baseball.

I don’t know what to think yet.    I would love another hitter though.  Sometimes I wonder about these “prospects” though.  Hamilton goes down and we can’t find one of these bombers that can play for us yet?   Not one?

There are deeper games within the game at play. They also highly value the clubhouse and the relationships and camaraderie therein. We may be looking at numbers and results because that is all we have, but I have to imagine Greg Jones made an impression even if there was very little in terms of results to back that up.

That game had to feel good for Yelich.  He won us the game.  It’s been awhile

now that doesn’t mean you can go 1-25 the next 7 games. 😀

Ortiz at .220!!!!!!

If he could just find a way to be around a 0.245 guy with a 0.320 OBP Even if he didn't have a lot of pop that would be helpful

I would love to have the chance to sit down with Henderson or Hook & discuss the cut FB usage the last two times out for Misiorowski. I think it's a hell of a pitch but I wonder about the sequencing. It's almost as if it's been set up as a priority pitch recently, as opposed to establishing 103-104 & using the cutter off that. To me it seems to be happening the last couple starts-----since they've been talking about him going to a 4-day off schedule rather than five. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Once he de-prioritized it today, one hit in 6.1 is usually gonna work😁.

Yelich in a bunting situation, fouls off the first two, then lines the 2-strike pitch for an RBI double. Oppo, no less. I'm sure Card fans loved that lol.

Joey Ortiz is hitting .261 since Pratt has (mostly) taken over at SS. Does that mean anything? I dunno.

I was hoping Pratt could do that this year but that might be wishful thinking

He's been one of our hotter hitters as of late which says a lot about the current state of our offense.

Just saw that Lara is starting in CF and hitting 2nd in the order for game #2.
