Generally you get a spark from your leadoff guy. Checks notes..... I see why there is no energy.

What a waste of time to devote multiple hours to a team featuring Yelich as a leadoff hitter. You would never know we are 59-35 by watching today’s games. I love this team, but I hate bad baseball … & we gave the first game away. Now we’re in a position to get swept in Pittsburgh. It didn’t have to be this way, Murphy.

I see by turning the game off after the bomb to put the Pirates up 2-0, good things are starting to happen.  I will keep it off for the sake of folks here.

At the end of the day, Murphy doesn’t have the guts to bench Yelich or even move him down in the order until the day comes when Yelich actually approaches him and tells him that he thinks he would be for the best interests of the team.

I wonder what it will take for his ego to do just that?

I mean, if it were me, I think I'd have already had that conversation with Murphy...  I just think he'd want to do what is best for the team.

Of course, there is the chance that Yelich did that, and Murphy refused, which isn't out of the question.

My answer is that I believe that Yelich believes he can still do it and isn’t just washed, and probably will continue to believe it longer than the rest of us.

There is also a chance that Yelich can’t see that he is not a good hitter anymore … thus, the manager, has to have the conversation. Either way, if there isn’t a change, Arnold must step in & suggest a change.

Sanchez has a laundry list of god awful challenges this year but that one takes the cake. A 3-0 count all the way in the zone. What are you doing, man?
