Pretty nice company he keeps. Doesn't seem too "disappointing" to me. Still has the 2nd half to add to his totals.

The likelihood someone does this again is basically zero. With a new CBA and pitching how it is, this will be almost impossible.

The in game threads have some serious hot takes game to game. Calling Chourio a disappointment with the 2nd best OPS on the team at 22 is definitely top 5.

0% that teams will call up players this young, or 0% that young players will sign contracts like Jackson’s in the new CBA?

Owners are pushing for two years out of high school I believe. Pitching has also changed so much the last 5-7 years. I think the “ingredients” make it less likely.

Best LF in the NL (better than Juan Soto). Missed 6 weeks of the season. Won't turn 23 until next March when the Brewers will still have 7 years of team control over him!

He's really heating up, and seems to live for the big games and big moments. Lots of swag and confidence.

When he came up to the plate Tuesday night you could just see in his eyes he was going to tie the game.

LF has been trending down offensively for a bit now and they generally get dinged a little from a WAR standpoint too because of the negative positional adjustment.

The first three seasons (2002 to 2004) that FanGraphs has positional splits league average for LF was a 113 wRC+, though Barry Bonds putting up 1,679 PA of 233 wRC+ over those three seasons may have skewed things upward a bit.

The next six years (2005 to 2010) it dipped down to between a 105 and 109 wRC+, before a further dip the next seven years (2011 to 2017) to between a 97 and 105 wRC+.

2018 to 2023 saw a nice bounce back for LF sitting between a 104 and 107 wRC+ for five of the six years, and now the last three years it's been at 102 wRC+.

Universal DH is probably eating into the LF pool some too as more guys would have been forced into faking LF if they were on a NL club during the 2010's.

I recall Chourio's hamstring issues severely diminishing him down the stretch last season...then missing the first month/1.5 months with his broken hand from the WBC this year.  If he's healthy and swinging the bat well into October, he's the postseason difference-maker the offense needs if teammates can keep getting on base around him.

And he's 22 - I think even I forget that since it seems like he's already a seasoned MLB vet

I love Jackson, but I don't think I've ever seen a player so good look so randomly terrible during certain at bats. 

Sometimes he swings like I think I would up there (although much harder than I could)

He has been a playoff riser for sure. He's one of the guys we need to stay healthy heading into the playoffs.
