A guy with a .712 OPS and 98 OPS+ over four years is basically washed to me. If you choose to think otherwise, that's fine with me.

He definitely wasn’t as good as he was in his heyday. But .700 OPS from someone who still fields a position is different than a guy who offers nothing but a bat. At least he was still a 2 WAR player.

Joey has been hitting for a while now, not sure why everyone is surprised.

I was about to compare his dropoff with a certain ex-Cardinal who stunk it up for a number of years with negative WAR until the organization finally had the bravery to tell him he was finished.

I appreciate you giving me permission to have an opinion 😁

3 for 19 with RISP again.

Basically since the second game of the double header we've been stinking up the joint with ducks on the pond again.

So do we know why Lara replaced Frelick so early in the game?  Seems odd if not injury-related.

Based on Frelick’s poor throw earlier tonight, his arm or elbow may be bothering him.

I much prefer fangraphs WAR personally and they had him well under one in two of his last three years. He could cover ground ok but had a noodle of an arm so he wasn't very good defensively either. I know it's an argument I couldn't possibly win regardless because Robin is a chosen one so I'm out.

He declined heavily the same year as Yelich, 34. Yount gets a little credit for playing defense but wasn't great.

I’ll say this — at least Robin was hitting 5th and 6th a LOT his last two years. So even though he was somewhat washed, there was generally a realization that he no longer should be penciled in near the top of the order.

Yelich has not hit lower than 4th. Not once,

It's not on Yelich, it's on Murphy...  (but I do think Yelich has to have a conversation with Murphy sooner or later and volunteer to move down in the order)  I guess that might not even help as stubborn as Murphy seems to be.  Maybe he has even already volunteered to move down but pancakes ignored the request?
