I was just looking over at yesterday's thread, and being that this could be a difficult, pivotal road trip, I thought you regular IGTers needed a playful poke, just to tease you a little bit...

Last night, the lineup looked good, so Murphy was right (the IGT was right!). The Brewers didn't score enough, Murphy was wrong (The IGT was right!).

Taxed bullpen? Murphy's fault (If only he'd listened to the IGT!!)

Last night, Henderson's pitch count looks good, sent back out. Murphy was right (The IGT was right!).

Ooops, but not for that long. Wrong again, Murph! (the IGT was right!).

Brewers win? Murphy's press conference sucks. Hate his kids.
Brewers lose? Murphy's press conference sucks. Really hate his kids.

Day after day, the theme is the same in the IGT. Murphy is responsible for the mess this team is in, and if it wasn't for him, and his kids, and Levering and Sophia, and BA, and Attanasio, and Yelich's Mom constantly tripping over their own feet, this team would achieve... more. If they only cared more, like the IGT does, then the Brewers would be a team we can be proud of. A team that actually wins something, a team that isn't satisfied with just one bite of an apple, or even a few bites, but rather wants to eat the whole damn thing.

In some ways, the IGT is the conscience of Brewerfan, constantly reminding us what the goal should always be. Nay, the expectation.

That is an impossible standard by which to live one's life, but it's the right standard for a playful pastime such as baseball. Never change, IGT. Just lighten up.

The IGT is a needed option for a sports forum like this to operate efficiently just as a cry room is necessary for a church to do the same. Sometimes people just need a space to close the door behind them and lose their minds a little without disrupting the main space/reason people have come here.

It can be tough to read through the IGTs.  In my mind, there's a huge difference between "Yeli looks lost right now; I think he needs to move down in the order" or "That's a really steep price for two rentals!" as opposed to "I've said this before - Murphy is a horrible game manager!!!" or  "Arnold gets ripped off again in this trade, like he always does!!!"  It just comes across as though you've never watched a full season of baseball in your life with these blanket judgments based on one game or one trade in late July.  And I get it - emotions run high in the middle of a game and people have to earn the benefit of the doubt.  But if Murph - back-to-back manager of the year and best record in baseball again this year - hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt with you, then no one ever will.  We're incredibly lucky as a fanbase right now to have the organizational talent we have.

Yesterday was probably my least favorite IGT of the season. And Sunday was probably my favorite. Absolute roller coaster.

Surfing through an IGT is akin to shopping at Walmart at 2 a.m. Yes, you will eventually find what you are looking for, but to get there, you're going to have to push through a few drunks, a handful of people in pajamas and fuzzy slippers, an old guy yelling at a teenage entry-level employee because his favorite brand of Metamucil was moved, and an overweight middle-aged dude riding a handicap scooter around with a dog inexplicably in the basket.

Well said. And I didn't read the IGT last night, but I can just imagine.

I relate it to, if someone is watching a game, something bad happens and you cuss up a storm or hoist the remote. Except here, you're having to take the time to cool down & actually type. So to me, it's sort of like seeing the bad thing, sitting there, taking a few deep breaths.........and THEN hoisting the remote. And I can respect the first examples you gave; I've said similar & probably worse. But when the emotions take over & lead to the exaggeration & hyperbole it sheds a bad light on who I'm sure are normally rational folks.

You're right--we are a lucky fan base, and in some ways maybe a spoiled one. But then I've always had a special appreciation for doing more with less.
