The division race is over.

Let's get the last out first, but yes, a win here is daunting.  Still want to kick hte crap our of them the next two days.

It's over. It was over before the series began. At this point, if this result holds, a 9-14 finish requires the Cubs to go 18-5. It's over. We like to be hysterical around here but we were in historic meltdown territory already. It's one thing to be 8 back when the team in first is middling. But to be 8 behind the best record in the league is divine intervention stuff.

The division is won, it's now a matter of holding off the Braves and Dodgers for the #1 seed.

Every win, is STILL important.

I've referred to it as the world's largest outdoor sewer for years.   Just an absolute dump full of dopes.

I was on North Side Baseball yesterday in the game thread......looking at their bullpen chart when I realized it doesn't really matter.   They all suck.

It's almost like you have to play a whole baseball game before declaring things an unredeemable dumpster fire.

Crazy talk.

I'd like to point out that this game is going better than last night.

Maybe we can get Sanchez an inning to stay sharp

At least let him challenge from the dugout.

Counsell said as much before the series.  Not sure if it was mentioned here but he stated they are not chasing a 100 win team, they’re worried about securing the top wild card.

Atlanta lost already, and the Cards are leading 3-0 over LA in the 3rd at the moment so positives on multiple front.

If a Philly holds on to its lead tonight, The Cubbies wake up as the second wild card
