Winning 1 of the next 2 puts the Brewers in very good shape. Taking 2 essentially means sayonara for the Cubs' faint division hopes.

I will be convinced both Turang and Pratt are ok when I see them in the lineup today. I know both finished the game yesterday but both had episodes of caution.

Right where you want to be. Grabbed a win out of the two less favorable pitching matchups, and now you've got your best two guys going in a spot where one win does just fine. Be very nice if Henderson goes for the series win tomorrow.

That bullpen chart is a little bit concerning, considering it might be tough to bring Uribe and Romero out for back-to-backs fresh off the IL, but maybe less so for Romero, whose injury wasn't at all arm related and who's also a rental. Patrick hasn't looked himself, but he should be available, as should Ashby and Megill, with Anderson not a bad option for a guy who's no one's first choice.

Ideal scenario is Miz goes 7. We'll see how he handles the adrenaline. The one concern is maybe some command issues given the circumstances. Good prep for playoff baseball.

He should just throw a perfect game with an immaculate inning or two since he's breaking records.

Anyone here that doesn't have a lot of background in baseball history (for whatever reason) should know that in this sports world filled with superlatives like Ohtani, that what Misiorowski is doing is seriously historic.

I can't believe he's on my team.

Cubs fans have to ask themselves if they should even tune in. Peterson's K/BB% is not good. Against the Brewers? He'll be lucky to get through the 4th, and then the bullpen kicks in.

I doubt the Cubs do anything different on the mound tonight since Peterson is 6'6" with elite extension and will be landing in the same vicinity as Miz. But I wouldn't put it past them to use a passing shower this afternoon to declare a rainout.

Baseball is baseball, facing the best offense with a wind blowing out against a ground ball pitcher like Peterson, there's always a chance. One could argue it's these exact conditions that the Brewers rotation is most prone to struggling against

Anyway hopefully the right handers can get a hold of Peterson in ways they didn't last time out, but it's definitely advantage Brewers with their best performing starters on the mound over the next two games

Yes. And throw in the heat and Miz being a high-effort pitcher, and there's a little bit of a weird factor tonight, for sure. The conditions are going to be difficult for even someone as amazing as our ace. His one weakness is the propensity for the home run ball, so I'm not as confident as I normally am.

All that said, the Brewers get to hit in the same conditions, against worse pitchers up and down the roster. So. Let's hope they approach their ABs well and we get a result more in line with last night than the night before.

First off, the TV announcers last night were wrong about the season series being tied at 4-4 - it's actually 5-3 in favor of MKE, which I think most people reading this already knew (and that getting to 7 wins clinches the tiebreaker).

I am kind of bracing for disappointment tonight - Cubs are good enough to make Miz work and they'll for sure screw up the mound to mess with him, too.

Joey O with a casual two run pop yesterday to keep Megill on the bench. Underrated. Miz to Megill would be lovely tonight. 

Random thought, is Andrew Vaughn the 2nd best two-way player in the league (min. 3IP)?

I’m not worried about the division race. We have very little to worry about regarding that. 
 

however, we are lined up to pitch Misiorowski against a possible playoff opponent twice over the next week. Since we are doing that, I have the added desire to walk away with a win. Same goes for Henderson tomorrow/next week.
