That's a slide to make to avoid the tag when the catcher is going to have the ball, not one to make when trying to beat the tag.

That is one of the worst slides I can remember.  Head first and touch the base with your hands, feet first, and touch the base with your feet.  Feet first touch the base with your hand isn't even an option.

That’s as about as bad of a slide as it gets.  I wonder if he also got a bad jump.  That ball was hit hard but with two outs he has to score there.

Scared of more hand damage? Obviously should’ve gone feet first all the way, and that also would make his hand less likely to get re-injured.

He obviously want get it this playing so much at short, and sharing 3rd with Hamilton for some reason.  But if hes there a full ywar next year I wouldnt be surprised.

He still reached for home with his hands though. Not like he slid to tag with his feet.
