The quality of his ABs, the way he uses the whole field, the occasional power, the BA, the OBP, this is stuff I expected from him.........in 2027. The fact that he's doing it now is very impressive.

Since being pulled from the game in NY, he's hitting .327. That tells me the guy is really mature, and an absolute sponge AFA reacting to situations, absorbing everything & coming out the better for it.

I definitely was expecting Pratt’s first year to be similar to Turang’s first year.

his offensive contributions (with those baseline contributions) have been very solid.

this version of Pratt, 2nd Half Joey, 1st Half Turang, this version of Bauers is a pretty nice infield

Professionalism would prevent this (I guess), but if they're still fighting with Phillies for home field next week in a 4-5 matchup, part of me would love to roll into Philadelphia, make some roster moves & for those three games give the ball to Brandon Sproat, Colton Gordon & I dunno......Wes Obermueller.

I am now watching a replay of the game (I had chorale rehearsal  tonight).  Hubby said Bauers fouled a ball off his back leg.  Any news about him?

That is correct. The magic number is 7. Each team has 10 games remaining so only 7 of those 20 games have to have the “right” result for the Brewers to get the number 1 seed

I am grateful Drohan pulled his glove back and didn't attempt to snag the high chopper over the mound so that Turang could field it cleanly and turn the double play.

He doubled a pitch or two later and looked a little tender running to 2nd. The next batter flew out to medium deep right and Bauers did not even fake an attempt to tag up and even the announcer noted "Bauers wants no part of running right now" or something to that affect.

Early game today, wouldn't be surprised if Murphy tells Bauers to keep his hoodie on all day.

Since Pratt was called up on June 16th the Brewers infield has collectively hit .284 (1st) with a .361 OBP (1st), though their .149 ISO is only 20th. Put it all together and their 121 wRC+ is second among all infields over that time frame just behind the Padres with a 123 wRC+.

In a similar vein, since May 4th when Chourio and Vaughn returned to the lineup (freeing up Bauers to spend more time in the OF) the Brewers outfield has collectively hit .264 (3rd) with a .333 OBP (4th), and .160 ISO (14th). Put it all together and their 109 wRC+ is fifth among all outfields over that time frame.

Even with a down year for Contreras (113 wRC+) the Brewers backstops have collectively hit for a 116 wRC+ that ranks third for the season among all catching corps.

Obviously that just leaves DH, but even there the numbers outpace the doom and gloom by a decent margin. As a whole Brewers DH have hit for an even 100 wRC+ (16th), the same as the Braves. One of the Padres (83 wRC+ | 27th) or DBacks (79 wRC+ | 29th) will make the NL playoff field with bottom of the barrel DH production on the year.

The other thing with Yelich is that while the season as a whole is no doubt ugly (94 wRC+ | 0.2 WAR), those are context neutral measures. Christian's +1.48 Win Probability Added is fourth on the team behind Turang (+3.81), Bauers (+2.58), and Mitchell (+1.80) while being slightly ahead of Chourio (+0.88) and Contreras (+0.80).
